Walking from POP to CBR

This can’t be right. My friend is at POP now and wants dinner at Sebastian’s Bistro at CBR. She is telling me she can walk there in about 20 minutes, and that it says so on the MDE app.

Sure enough, it does say that on the app, but that can’t really be true/ safe? There’s no walking path I’m aware of. Can anyone confirm? Has anyone done this?

I think it’s great that the All-Stars, McDonald’s, CSR, Winter Summerland, and Blizzard Beach are one big walking trail.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case with POP.

You can use Apple Maps or Google to zoom in on the roads, you can see there are not paths or cross walks in that area. WDW really isn't walking friendly area outside of the parks and resorts. Plus those critters that like to swim and walk in land are abundant, I'm not sure I'd want to be walking along an area that isn't controlled.

She pointed out that on Google maps, it will also give you walking directions, and she is correct.

Also, to be clear, I am a solid believer that this can not be done, that there are no walking paths, and that she should take Uber/ Lyft/ Disney transportation. I haven't stayed at POP in a while but I definitely don't remember any walking paths that leave the resort.

Hmm, just checked Google Maps. They do show a way to walk. It is all paved, but no sidewalks on Century Drive would be somewhat concerning. The rest looks like it is not a busy road. I wouldn't be inclined to try it though.

Interesting on the OP's picture it shows 23 minutes to walk, and 73 minutes by bus. How true!

Gotta love that Disney math! Bus route shows going from POP to DS, then from DS to CBR. It looks like it gives 20 minutes for the bus to arrive at both places.

Nope. Just because directions are available doesn't mean its possible. Many, many years ago, when mapquest first started, it advised getting from Boston to London by, "drive to New York. Swim to England..."

Gotta ask, did she read the advice/disclaimer at the bottom of the directions? Not to mention, that third turn (left toward Century Drive) will take her past the guard shack, where she should be stopped.

Stupid bus directions, too. Bus from Pop to either DHS or Epcot, then bus to CBR.

Final result- she decided to take an Uber. She texted “once we were out on the street I realized why you really can’t walk over.”

Apparently some people need more visual aids than others o_O

I should have mentioned this is the same friend who would probably wade right into the World Showcase lagoon if an app told her to, because Mickey would never steer anyone wrong. This is why we don’t travel together.
