Walking From Beach Club To Parks ???

We are going to be staying at the Beach Club in Oct.(first time at home base:+) Our guide book says you can walk to Epcot and MGM. Does anyone know how long the walk is? which would be better waitting for a boat or just walking.?? Any suggestions? We will have a 6 yr old with us.

The walk to Epcot would be about 5 minutes, I walk, not boat.

The walk to MGM would be a good 20 minutes with a 6 year old. I would boat.

On my own, I like to walk to MGM in the morning occasionally. It's a nice stroll, but could overwhelm a little person's legs combined with all the Park walking.

Epcot to BC and versa is a snap.

MGM to BC is lengthy when planning to stay at the parks. Take the boat!

With a six year old it may take a while to get to MGM, Epcot would be no problem, its about a 5 minute walk to the entrance, but then you have quite a walk to future world.
I've walked to MGM in about 15 to 20 minutes at an even pace. Taking the boats are slower than walking, but very relaxing. I found that in the evening it was faster to walk than to take the boats, especially after the parks close. One night I walked from MGM to the YC because the lines for the boats were horrible and I made it to the YC before the boats.
Coming from MGM the boats stop at the Swan/Dolphin first, and then I think they go to the Boardwalk and then to the YC/BC. I could be wrong about the order after the Swan/Dolphin because its been awhile since I stayed at the YC.

We often walk from Epcot to Beaches and Cream for icecream. It's a short walk from the gate to BC. As other posters stated, the walk from BC to MGM is a different story. I'd take a boat.
