Hi folks...this is my first time at Disney. Is it possible to WALK from the Downtown Disney hotels to Premium Outlets? I'll be staying at the Coronado, but figure I can use the Disney bus to at least get myself to downtown. If walking isn't possible - what other options would be available (I don't really want to rent a car). Also, any suggestions for getting to either the Florida Mall and/or Mall at Millenia? I'm open to any CHEAP suggestions. Thanks everyone.

That is a very very busy stretch of road. I would not walk it. It would be quite a walk. You can take a Lynx bus. www.golynx.com or a taxi.

Welcome to the DIS.

I know for sure LYNX services FL Mall, not as sure about Millenia but I would imagine so. That said, from WDW it would take at least one, if not two transfers to get there. Not really worth it for what's just a mall with the same stores as any mall in the US.

Premium outlets is across Interstate 4 from Disney. It certainly is in walking distance for most 20 year olds. If you are any older I would suggest picking up a taxi from your hotel. It doesn't cost that much.

P.S. Coronado is not a DTD hotel.

I sure wouldn't let anyone I cared about walk from DTD to the outlets. That is a bad stretch of road in a car let alone trying to walk it.

Agreed. Not a lot of sidewalks, crazy traffic, and a couple of miles each way.

Same applies to the outlets. Other than the Disney outlets stores the outlet stores aren't different than the outlet centers that are all over the country.

We're assuming the OP is from the United States. If the OP doesn't have shopping available at home our answer might be different. A few UK posters bring empty suitcases and shop in Orlando. Renting a car is the best option. Could also get a price from a car service. Edd what would a driver normally charge to transport a passenger from CSR to and from the Premium outlets?

Walking won't work and Lynx would take too much time, particularly for the return trip with everything you buy.

The distance is not so bad, but the route is along some of the most dangerous roads in that area. I wouldn't walk any of that stretch of road unless someone's life was at stake, because, well... if you walk that stretch of road, your life is at stake.

The only way to cross I-4 on foot is to walk along SR 535 under the I-4 overpass.

Take a cab. It'll only eat into your shopping budget by a few bucks and may save your life, not to mention the time and hassle of walking all that way in the Florida sun and heat, in no shade, with an armload of packages!

Everywhere is within walking distance...........if you've got the time! :earsboy:

But I agree with the prior posters.....you don't want to walk there. Too much traffic and although just a 5-10 minute drive from Downtown Disney, walking would take more than an hour.....if you don't get hit by a vehicle!

If you're trying to economize, take the Disney bus to Downtown Disney and then hire a taxi from there. Taxis are plentiful and travel time should be less than 10 minutes.
