Is anything in WDW walking distance from anything else :cool1: (i.e. parks to other parks, dtd to parks, boardwalk, etc.)? I'm in good shape and don't mind walking 2-3 miles. I want to plan to group together activities that are close to each other. Walking from one thig to another is so much more leisurely than taking a crowded shuttle, plus you get to take in all the sights along the way.

P.S. do my bouncy guys look pink or purple? They look dark purple on my laptop, but on my BFs comp and the one at work, they look pink. If they're pink I'll have to change them. DEFINITELY not my color.

You can walk from the Boardwalk/Yacht and Beach Club/Swan and Dolphin to Epcot and Disney MGM Studios. You could walk from Coronado Springs to Blizzard Beach/Winter Summerland mini golf-it is accross the street. You can walk from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom. You could walk from Downtown Disney to Pleasure Island and the West Side. You could also walk to the Crossroads shopping center. We once walked 13 miles at Epcot one day so it will be more than 1-2 miles:)

The smiles look purple.

you can walk from the BWI to YC and BC and viceversa. You can also walk from any of these resorts to the Swan and Dolphin. Also, you can walk from any five of these resorts to EPCOT and/or MGM! You can walk from EPCOT to MGM and viceversa as well!

We love to stay at the BWI, YC, or BC just to walk. Also, we walk through EPCOT to take the monorail to MK!

You sound like our family's kind of person...it is sooooo convenient to stay at any of these resorts! :flower:

I definitely expect to walk way more than two miles in a normal park day. I just mean distance to get from one theme park/attraction to another.

This reminds me of when I was dating my DH and I took him to Disney World for one day. I made him do all 4 parks in one day, and we clocked in at over 20 miles of walking in 13 hours (he has a pedometer on his watch). Granted, one always walks quite a bit at WDW, but all 4 parks in one day is something only true sadists will attempt.

Anyway, we were staying in a hotel in downtown Orlando, so I drove us back there, and when we got to the valet, I tried to step out of the car but crumpled to the ground. My ankles were swollen to 3 times normal size, and the bellboy had to push me to my room in the luggage cart. I spent the next whole day soaking my feet and trying not to move.

The thing was, I was perfectly fine as long as we were still walking around. The 20 minutes in the car with no movement did me in.

So be careful! Don't do any more walking than you actually need to, because the parks are MILES long and you'll be walking a lot more than you realize. Or, at least, do your leisurely walks in the evening, after you've left the parks, so as not to take anything away from the day.

I think the answer to your question is, "no". ;)

You can't even walk between things at WDW. The roads have no sidewalks, so except for the walks mentioned above (you can walk from the Epcot resorts to MGM or Epcot) you really aren't allowed to.

If you go to Anita Answer over at All Ears Net, I believe she answered a very similar question recently. She's a good read anyway - head over there and check her out.

Pink's not my color either so I thought I'd tell you that on my computer they look more pink than purple. Lilac, maybe?

WDW parks were designed with walking in mind. However, walking from one park to another (Besides Epcot/MGM) is not an option. You will never see pedestrians on the roads leading to the parks.
Your smiling bouncies are royal blue on my screen.

Everybody has answered the walking thing...but the bouncy's are blue on my screen...
