Hi Everyone,
We will be back at WDW for Christmas. We were last there in July for the reopening.
At that time the monorail stopped running an hour after MK closing. Is that still the case?

We are staying at GF, but if we walk over to the Contemporary after MK closes for dinner will we be able to walk back to GF? I wasn’t sure if the new walkway or even in front of MK closes at some point each evening and we wouldn’t be able to make our way back.

When the monorail closed an hour after closing in July it made it very hard to eat at another monorail resort unless you could walk back.

Thanks!

The security check points will be closed about an hour after park closing. So you can't do the walk from Contemporary to GF after that. You'll need to call a rideshare.

The resort monorail is still closing an hour after MK closes.

Once the monorail closes, a bus runs between the three monorail resorts until 11pm. It’s called the “Gold Route.” It also runs starting at 7am every day until 30 minutes prior to MK opening for those that need to get around for breakfast.

There's a bus that runs till 11, or at least there *was*.... they started it due to the boats not operating between the monorail (and Wildernesses) resorts at the moment

I'm just curious as to why that would matter? Like, is there something actually stopping someone from doing it? We've walked back to catch a bus from MK from CR and did not have to go through bag check or anything...they weren't there, we just walked through. Just curious as to what the issue would be and do they have ppl posted throughout the walkway at some point telling ppl they can't walk to GF? Seems odd.

but if someone would rather walk back to GF 1.5 hrs after mk close, instead of using the bus, could they? That would be my preference.

I’m pretty sure they will have a security guard posted near the entrance area to MK from both walkways not allowing anyone to pass through. MK doesn’t have a gate to stop people from walking through the magicband touchpoints so they’re not going to want people wandering around unsupervised in that area, or walking near the security areas outside the park.
