Does anyone know if you are allowed to walk around POP Century Resort with a mixed drink? We wouldn't be using glass, but plastic instead for a cup. Just thought that I would ask out here before I acually try it and get in trouble.

I dont' see why not. There's an outdoor pool bar. On our last trip we stayed at ASMo and I'd often get a drink from the bar and walk back to my room with it.

Knock yourself out!! :drinking1

I do it with a glass glass. The bars serve drinks in glass.

No CM's or anyone has ever given you a hard time about walking around with it?

The pool bar at the ASMo served mixed drinks in plastic cups when we were there. And no - no one said anything to me. Aside from Hi or something as I walked by them. I dont' think it was a problem.

But remember, you're not allowed to use your refill mugs to get free refills of mixed drinks. :rotfl2:

I can dream, though, can't I?

This is going to be so cool. I can lounge around or take a nice little strole with my new beautiful HUGE plastic goblets that I bought. "CEASERS" sound good to me! Gosh this trip sounds even better now. Even though I don't drink much...but you just never know.

I did when I was there and had no problems.

omg - could you imagine walking up to a big slushi machine and filling up your refillalbe mug with a margarita or daquiri? (sp?!) or BEER!?!?!? :)

heaven!

Thanks everyone! I guess there is no need to try and hide the drink when we walk around the resort then. Also does anyone know the average price on a 24oz bottle of vodka, crown royal, tequila? It's just that we are from Canada and we're driving through Michiagan, Kentucky, Tenn, and Georgia. Opps and Florida too so where is the best area to buy from? As for some who might not know; things are usually cheaper in the states for us to buy, so that's why I want to buy these 3 bottles over there. Thanks for any help that could be given.

here is a thought....use your mug and get your slushy and then just add rum to it and it's like a daquari.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.............

FYI. The alchohol content of the liquor in the US is often higher than the same brand from Canada. I have learned that on fishing trips to Ontario where we take some bottles from home and buy some upon arrival. You can have 2 identical bottles but when you check the proof# the US is higher. So, you might need to be careful. :)

Just wanted to reassure you we do this too!! Much cheaper to buy it and bring it in, that way I can spend my money in other areas!! :sunny:

I thought liquor in Canada was cheaper than the US, lower taxes. Even if the US is a little cheaper it might be easier to just bring 3 bottles instead of looking for a liquor store. The liquor store you'll find right off the highway might not have the best prices.

our taxes here are 15%!!!!!!!!! Everyone tell us to buy it in the states.

I've brought a little cooler with beers (can) down to the pool at AKL and sat there while the kids played in the pool and had a beer or two. Even though I was steps away from the bar (where a beer is $5 each and I paid very little as I had bought it at the grocery store on the way from the airport) no one had a problem with it. Matter of fact, I've seen many folks bring their own drinks down to the pool, as long as it's not glass. Also, at all the theme parks except Magic Kingdom (where they don't serve alcohol) you can walk around the whole theme park with your drink. It's your vacation - relax and have fun!
PS - as far as the poster from Canada, it seems it would be easier to wait and buy liquor close to disneyworld, it seems fairly inexpensive in Orlando to me. You may think of other stuff you need to stop and get also anyway, like bottled water. Just find a "liquor store" as the grocery stores there only sell beer and wine.
