Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

WTG Robert on the 7.5 M!!!!!

Dh is still experiencing heel problems and isn't sure he is going to be able to finish. He has really scaled back his walking as it doesn't hurt as much when he jogs.

Can you believe how close we are getting.

Dave, Robert, is there still a meet at ESPN on Thursday night?? Gotta get my plans straight in my head.

Kim

Kim: I think that is the plan. We might do All Star Cafe as another option at WWoS after packet pickup??

Watching the snow trying to melt but with high temps below freezing....

Sure any place works for us, just wanted to make sure we where still planning on dinner.

Our temps are pretty low here as well, can't get enough snow melted even off the subdivision roads for a good walk. Mike and I did 8K yesterday but felt like alot more as it was like trail walking, it was crazy. Just glad we didn't end up with a twisted ankle or something like that.

1 month right now....I will be at packet pickup!!!!!

Yes of course we are meeting with Robert, Linda, our dear friends from Canada and hopefully Lily and Pat again, and of course anyone else who wants to. Either ESPN or Brewery which one you wanna do guys?

We did our 20 miler today in Gattlinburg. It was wonderful, we kept the speed down to about 15 mpm so we would be on a pace to stay ahead of the sweep and still have goof off time.

We walked mountian roads, trails, the main drag of gift shops and restraunts andof course along the river. Wonderful walk, now some advil and a shower and I might feel more alive. We are heading off to dinner at the "Best Itialian" restraunt, really wonderful and very fresh food.

I didn't butt bump Erica into traffic for not telling me my packet was in, but the thought crossed my mine.

Tomorrow will be 10 miles on a combination of mountian trails and river walk. Then only one more week of LSD. The 2 weeks of rest did me good, I hope it works the same for Robert.

Yaaa, can't wait to see you all again, and of course the more the merrier so anyone who doesn't have dinner plans on Thursday after packet pickup please join us.

Thanks

Kim

Morning everyone. I have been busy trying to catch up since getting home. Between all the normal stuff that needs done and getting ready for Christmas it is hard to keep up with the boards.

Robert--- So sorry to hear that you are still having problems with your shins. I hope that resting them helps and you will be able to do the marathon. pixiedust: for you

Connie--- I had a major back issue 3 years ago and I know how unpleasant that can be. I never had so much pain in my entire life for so long. I hope that your DH soon gets some relief. pixiedust: for DH. Congratulations on your race.

Dave--- Glad things are going well with you and Erica's training. Enjoy your vacation.

My legs are feeling good since I rested them for 3 days, so am going to the gym to use the TM tonight for 3 miles. Need to find a new book to start to read. Just finished "Rhett's People" which I really enjoyed. Gave a different twist on the Gone With the Wind story.

Gosh race day is getting closer. In one month we will be at WDW. We don't get there until Friday so can't make dinner on Thursday. DS#2 is coming with us, but don't look for him to be doing much WISH events other than POP meet on Friday if he wants to eat and PI on Sunday night.

What time are we meeting for dinner on Thursday? We tried to get a ressie at LeCelliere but there was nothing available except a late lunch, which we took. If we can make it, we'll try to join up with you and have a drink or something. Thursday will be a little confusing. Our son will be traveling with us and we get in fairly early, but our daughter is flying in from a business meeting in PA may be arriving much later. I'll have to leave instructions at the front desk so she can pick up her room key. She may not be a happy camper if none of the fam is there to greet her, but hey, life is tough.

Hi Guys:flower3:

We just got back rom an awesome 10 miler on the mountian trails. We pushed the pace a bit today and we both are feeling strong. We have done 35 miles over the last 3 days.

The walking is easier on wooded trails and along a wooded stream than along a highway. I wonder if it's because the air is so much fresher. Trees give off Oxygen so it stands to reason that if you are walking in the woods the oxygen levels are higher than along the road where its mixed with car exhaust.

Welcome back Nancy.

Have a great day y'all.

Hey jean, not sure what time we are meeting, I believe we are meeting at
the packet pick up for 3 and looking around etc, not sure what time we will actually eat but whatever time you could drop by would be great, we just have to decide where we are going:rolleyes1

Wow Dave you and Erica are really booking it...as my DD would say, and I think that is a good thing:woohoo:

Hi nancy!!!!

Robert....no posts today where is ya????

Fighting a headache today, probably the weather, but getting out tonight for 8K regardless of the sucky weather, I just checked Orlando and I am jealous....I want to go now!!!!

Where has that PatsFan Bill been hiding?

Connie keep us posted on how your hubby is doing.

Erica and I did a lot of miles the last three days, 35 official and probably 10 strolling and shopping, so tomorrow will be a rest day.

Have a great evening y'all, we have to drive home tomorrow, darn it.

As a public service announcement they should caution people against doing unsupervised beer laps around Epcot.

Yes we saw Samantha while we were there in November, she must have been doing the final last bits of taping, turns out she was right above us at the Boardwalk. My husband saw her jogging one morning around the BW, she was a bit later than us, we were having morning coffee at the time.

We are heading home from Gatlinburg in a little bit. We are sad to be leaving, it ain't Disney World but it's been awesome anyway. We did our long walks: 5 on Sunday, 20 on Monday and 10 on Tuesday. Then a lot of walking around town seeing the sights.popcorn:: We ate way to much.

We will be home this evening and then we are going to see the movie "The golden compass". We are going to resist any walks today unless it's just to stroll.

Have a great day y'all.

Hi, Everyone!

DH is still struggling with the back. We have been waiting for going on two weeks to hear from a physical therapist. This is so aggravating. I WISH I could remember what I did with all that Pixie Dust. He really needs a big dose right now.

I am not technically locked in with this ice storm. I am however, in the cold, the windy and the very, very uncomfortable part of it. Every morning the roads are iced over and there just isn't a safe way to be outside, therefore, the stepper, the Pilates videos, and the resistance tubing are getting a work out.

Is anyone making cookies or candy for Christmas? I am really trying to resist the urge!

Sorry to hear about DH Connie.....lots more PD coming his way:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Dave, save trip home!!!!

Where is Krista??? I liked the ones we saw at disney that Krista did.....chips please..... OK I hope someone else remembers Krista or I must sound really weird...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

1 month today is the 1/2 yippeeeeeee.....OMG I am sooooo not ready for this.

Connie: so sorry to hear your husband is still suffering. Back pain can be so debilitating.I consider myself one of the lucky ones. I had surgery on 2 discs about 17 years ago and have been fine ever since. Sending an extra large load of pixie dust......pixiedust:
I need to ask you guys advice. You all know I had a really bad experience with my 18-miler last Saturday. Now all I can think of is going out and proving to myself I can do it. I managed to schedule some time this weekend so it will be possible to get it in. Two people have told me NOT to do it. They say my body is still recovering from the half marathon the week before (I went out hard) and last week's stonker. Intellectually, I know they're right. But I'm such a stubborn little thing, I feel I have to conquer this right now. If I don't do a super walk, i will definitely do a 10 or 12 miler, so it's not like I'm doing nothing. What do you think?
So who else is in Red Corral G? According to the list, I see Erica and Pat (where's Dave and Wendy?) Knowing I will have all these very supportive people around me really helps. I'm just trying to lose some weight so when you guys have to carry me, it will be a little easier.

Okay, Jeanne, make me the third person to say "DON'T DO IT!" The goal here is to make it to the starting line healthy and strong. To try the 18 miler again will only lead to injury/illness. You are trying to prove something to yourself......that you can do it. You can do it, but save it for when it counts!!!((((((and get a medal out of it!)))))) You have been training hard, and you will be able to complete the marathon. Don't over-train before your marathon. You have done the hours of training, and your body now needs time to heal.

Stay healthy, girlfriend!

Beth
