Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Hi Guys!

I hope I do a better job of posting this week than last. Unfortunately it is a super-busy time for me at work. After Dec. 14th, ya'll will get sick of my constant posting...it will totally settle down and I will have all day to write!:goodvibes

I'm doing well with the MfM training plan for walking a half marathon. I did seven miles Saturday, and this week it's just 4, so that should feel like a breeze!:woohoo:

Scott -- It may be frozen where I am, but I'm warm and toasty on the TM:rotfl: I'm definitely a "fair weather" outside runner. It sounds like you got great advice, though!:thumbsup2

Connie -- Ok, I have to ask where you went in Missouri!;) I'm a St. Louis native, and my parents were originally from the Bootheel. I went to undergrad in Kirksville, so I've kind of been all over the state.

Jeanne -- I'm with you, I  Helio! I definitely thought his "freestyle" dance was the most like a dance!

Nancy -- After that "doll" routine, I don't see how Marie could stick around, even if all of Utah votes for her...:confused3

Dave and Robert -- I really hope you are feeling better! We can't have our princes not leading the charge! :cool1:

Kim -- Congratulations on being done with the shopping! I still have a few things to pick up, but I'm almost there. I have to get gift cards for my nieces in FL which necessitates two trips to stores where I just don't shop. I guess it's good for me to broaden my horizons...

Everyone have great walks!
Maria

I made it 10K before my left foot had enough. The glute was ok, now I just have to get this foot issue under control.

It started mildly hurting after 3 miles then a right about 6 miles became very painful. What the heck am I doing in this Goofy training. I'm like taking a dragster to run the Indy 500 with. I'm in my element from 5K on down. The Long walks are Erica's element. The things we do for love.

Hurting Panda:hippie:

Maria--- I will be happy if either Mel or Helio win. I am so hoping that Marie is gone in the first 10 minutes, maybe she will come to her senses and not even show up tonight after that diaster of a free dance. It gave me nightmares. Marie is one on my son's least favorite celebrities that he has had to work with, her and her dolls. I think last night I saw some of the nasty side of Marie that he has experienced.

Jeanne must be in shock from the Doll Dance since she hasn't posted here today.

I have done no training since Sat and it won't be happening tonight. LTO and have to finish up everything tonight at we have a 7am flight. So won't be posting again until I get back from Disney.

Hope everyone's injuries are better by then.

Happy Training everyone.

Nancy

PT has been really fun. A new experience in pain:eek: Yesterday was no fun and if I am getting better, it is slowly. Don't believe the foam roller is made of foam as I think it is made of concrete.

Did .3 miles in laps in pool plus 10 min pool bike exercises.

Back to PT every M-W-F for next 4 weeks. See ortho Dr who will be doing knee surgery in Jan about shins on Mon. Will get to see back specialist sometime about 2 different issues. Lot of copays:(

Hope to try another 2 miler on Thurs.

I'm gonna be right there with you for a few days. I'll be doing all my training in the pool getting in touch with my inner Guppy.

I really don't want down time but my left foot isn't gonna get better if I keep walking on it.

Panda "your such a guppy":hippie:

Panda,
I will answer for Nancy......she is already 'winging' to Disney. Nancy oldest ds works at the QVC with taking the product pictures for the tv and internet shopping. He has had the 'pleasure' of working with Marie taking the doll's pictures. She is a bit 'over-done' I guess. It's not his favorite person.

Maria I was in Bakesfield. We have a friend who has lived in that area for about 12 years.

Today is a better day. I have started my training, finally. My back is much improved and I am happy to begin doing something again. I feel like a slug, right now, though. Slugs don't feel happy, btw! :rotfl:

Robert and Dave Get way better! Maybe you should call in some big dudes and ask Santa for help along with the Magic of Disney!

Thanks everyone for your advise, Scott is taking me shoe shopping this weekend for my birthday, hopefully I will find something comfortable and weatherproof. I may end up with ordering over internet if I cannot find anything here in Cheyenne.

Scott went out running this morning. It is now snowing, which will put a crimp in my walking with the dogs. We may brave the snow if the wind does not pick up too much. I really don't mind the snow, but when coupled with winds in excess of 15 mph, it is not pretty!

Lynn, I'm looking forward to the Disney Expo so I can try on lots of shoes that you don't see in the stores but can be great walking shoes. I want to try the new model Mizuno Revolver and the new Universe, this shoe is supposed to be cushioned, good support and only 3 oz.

Good luck with your shopping. Keep your the Wild Man out of trouble.

Thanks for the well wishing everyone.

I went to the gym and ran in the pool for a quarter mile then did some upper body exercise in the pool.

Then stretched in the hot tub for a while. I completely stayed off the foot except for normal walking around. Then I iced it when I got home. That's all I can do.

Have an awesome day y'all

Panda, who is such a Guppy.:hippie:

Hi Everyone!

It's my rest day, so no walk tonight. I did 50 minutes on the TM last night, and went about 3.5 miles. My legs felt like sludge. I'm hoping the day off will help with that tomorrow.

DH got his Race Packet in the mail yesterday. I registered us at the same time, but so far nothing. Should I be concerned? I have my registration confirmation, and they most certainly charged our credit card...

Dave -- It sounds like you are following a great recovery plan. You are doing everything you can, and you will see results!:goodvibes

Lynn -- I promise to stop calling you Scott!;) Enjoy your shoe shopping!

Connie -- Ok, I admit I'm not familiar with Bakesfield. In any case, I hope you enjoyed your time in the great state of Missouri!:wizard:

Beth -- I think we definitely had a hint of the "not all sunshine and roses" Marie Monday night. There is definitely a bit of the diva going on. When I heard her announce that she was one of the top ten doll designers in the world, I knew her claws were coming out...:scared1:

Robert -- I am so sorry, it sounds like you are a hurtin' puppy:dog: We are all thinking of you and hoping for better days!

Nancy -- I hope you are enjoying this most wonderful time of the year in the happiest place on Earth!:santa:

I'll be Shrekin' the Halls tonight. DS9 cannot wait!popcorn::

Everybody hang in there, it's almost December!

Maria

Hi Maria:flower3:

I have to get healed up so my princesses will stop telling me how far ahead of me in her training she is.

Tired Panda:hippie:

I finally got a nibble on my shoe company quest for someone to design and market real marathon walking shoes.

It's just a small spark of hope but I'm going to keep fanning the flame. Just have to wait and see what happens.

Excited Panda:hippie:

Hey everyone I am still here!!!!

Can't get rid of me that easily:grouphug:

I haven't read the posts but I hope all injuries are healing nicely, and there are no new ones out there.

Been fighting a cold for the past week.

How is everyones training going??? I have to admit mine has been non-existant, so I hope in the next 6 weeks I can bring it back up again. Not going to break any records just want my medal:) SO need to work on my cardio over the next 6 weeks

Weightloss is still grinding along but with a string of Christmas parties and a 50th birthday party thrown in...I think I might just be happy to maintain.:scared1:

Hope you are all well

Kim

Spent yesterday in Doctor's offices and hospitals. DH is having serous back problems. Looks like there's a lot of PT in his future. Thank goodness we are in a brand new year for the insurance deductible. Those MRI's are pricey.

If it's too cold today, I guess I will some time in on my stepper.

Pixie dust for your hubby Connie.

I managed 2 easy miles at the mall this morning, foot still hurts as much as it did on Tues, so tomorrow it's back to the pool. I'm gonna train like an animal in the pool till this foot gets better. I will be unhurt even if under trained at the Goofy.

Sore Panda:hippie:

Connie so sorry to hear about DH's back. Lots of PD for a speedy recovery

Dave: Sorry to hear you are still having foot problems. I hope it gets better for you soon, you have alot of milage to cover over 2 days. But I know you can do it. ]

I am on phones today so I hope to get alot of time to come in and catch up on things.....I hate when I can't keep up on posts, I feel like I have been kick out of the cool club.

Kim
