According to very reliable sources WDW now has a giant size (approximately six foot) Walkaround Figment. For photos and more information go to www.friendsoffigment.org and then click on "Figment's News".

The old Kodak shop will be opening as "Figment's Place" and there will be a WDW photogapher willing to take pictures (for a fee, of course).

If you don't like him, and especially if you think he looks like Barney, voice your complaints to Guest Services. Note he really does not look like a proper Figment. (I have one of the old 52 inch high plush Figments at home, and he looks a lot like the smaller plush Figments, which this one does not.)

Maybe it'll just be me, but I think it looks pretty good. Yeah, it's huge, and I liked the original Figment/Dreamfinder pairing much better, but I think the new costume (especially the face) looks quite good.

I think he looks okay except for the shirt.

My little brother and I saw him this past trip 11/24-11/28. He was tall all right. He can't sign autographs and the day we met him there were 3 or 4 manager types that seemed to be watching people's reactions and gauging how well things were going. He didn't seem overly popular, there were a lot of people in the area but not too many seemed to be interested in him.

To me he looks like Barney with a Figment head. I don't know if I can get past the huge size of this guy. I think of Figment as small and this guy is like the purple dragon that ate Epcot or something. ;)

Change is always hard to accept!!!! But better to have this than none !! Maybe they can bring back DREAMFINDER TOO !!!!

I think he looks ok. It seems hard to do the legs right if you are going to have a person inside - it would be difficult to walk.

I would like to see a small animatronic Figment that could be controlled remotely - responding to guests (with mouth movements) and move his head and arms around. He could be held by a cast member or stand atop something. He could work like Crush, being controlled and voiced by someone out of sight.

Of course, during the original attraction you had Dreamfinder (Remember, Figment is a figment of Dreamfinder's imagination) as a walk-around character outside carrying a Figment. Dreamfinder would talk (especially to kids) and Figment would interact with both Dreamfinder and the guests. Also, Figment is small and cute and definitely not six feet tall. I have a 52 inch plush Figment at home. If I set up a WDW monorail set, he barely fits inside; the walk-around is half again as tall as mine so he is not in correct Figment proportions.

It looks good from the top up, but the feet look too much like barney! But the rest of him is great. Its about time, it only took how many years to get Disney to put him in the parks. He is only the most popular character in EPCOT excluding the Geospehe called SpaceShip Earth!

Uhh, yeah, just like many other of the other costumed characters.

What??? You mean Jiminy Cricket isn't really 4 1/2 feet tall???

:confused3

First, I don't know what the 52 inch plush has to do with a point of reference. From the attraction, we know Figment's size - he appears in the "train room", prior to entering his house, several times during the finale and at the very end of the attraction. From these, we know Figment is roughly 18 to 24 inches high. So anything different (from micro sized to godzilla sized, and including the 52 inch plush) will be incorrect.

Or, would it? Figment can disappear and reappear at will. Wouldn't it make sense that he could alter his size?

That said, if you want a walk around, human-inside Figment he's gotta be taller. Jiminy, Mushu, Meeko, Stitch, etc. There are many examples of small characters who are human-sized in the park. It's the compromise that must be made.

The non-talking, hand controlled puppet Figment never did much for me.

1) Holy smokes !
2) Sonny Eclipse is finally back, plus we now have Figmet.
3) Character greeting doesn't get much better than this.

Several very talented folks worked long and hard to bring this experience to reality, the new area looks great, and of the options that were concieved, the full-sized version was the most feasible. Is there room for improvement? There always is, of course. Is this a monstrosity that will cause pain and suffering? Not hardly.
Oh, and the photographer isn't exclusive to this location, that's pretty standard at all of the permenant greeting locations. You aren't forced to purchase the professional photo, and you aren't prohibited in any way from using your own camera. This is just another option that is offored as a courtesy.

Also, while Figment is nearly as tall as goofy in total, the performer is one of the smallest height ranges. Figment could have been made shorter, but then his neck would have been out of proportion, and then think of the uproar... Kudos to Lon on the scenic elements and everyone who worked so hard on bringing Figment back to the Imag courtyard area!

Exactly. Someday ( hopefully in a couple years) when I'm spoiling my grandchildren in WDW and a great pic opportunity comes up I'll be very greatfull to pay $12.00 for a professional photo rather then trust my photo skills.

I joke about them all the time but one of my favorite pictures was done by one of those "hold on a second while I take your picture" hounds at EPCOT.

My forehead is shiny like a polished apple, but since those guys don't carry makeup, I won't blame them for that. :)

I believe the cost was one arm and one leg but well worth the lopsidedness for the quality of the picture.
