Walk-ups for lunch?

Anyone know if you can walk up for lunch at a TS or still absolutely need an ADR?

Obviously it depends if the TS is available for lunch.

We were there a few weeks ago and didn't have any problem making same day reservations (besides confusion with the folks on the phone - different topic). But we were very flexible with our times. I.e. we ate sometimes at 4pm, sometimes at 9pm. We didn't care - so we had an easy time getting "off" time reservations.

We were walk-in at Kona the 2nd week of August. No wait and it was around 1:30 or 2:00pm.

It really depends on where you go. If you want Le Cellier, it most likely is not going to happen. But you can usually walk into Nine Dragons. I usually have luck at the restaurants at the hotels no problem.

If you aren't making ADR's for restuarants, just be prepared to be flexible, and have a back up plan in case you can't get in.
