Walk Ups at Rainforest Cafe

I am trying to get a reservation at Rainforest Cafe at AK for 5 pm on Sept. 9th. The only times available right now are 4:15 and 6:00. 6 is too late because then it overlaps with a FP we have. I took 4:15, but it is kind of early for dinner. How likely is it to get a table for 5 if you just walk up? Never ate there before so I am not sure how busy they usually get.

You should try calling them directly and see if they have 5:00 pm available. I learned from here that T-Rex gives limited ADR time to Disney. My friend been trying for long time to get ADR for T-Rex so I suggested she call T-Rex directly and she was able to get the time/date she wanted eventhough she couldn't find it at Disney site. Since T-Rex is same company as Rainforest Cafe, calling them might work.

Go into your reservation and try to modify it for a later time. We got lucky this way with WC.

Great news :) The other way to do it is to get a Landry's card (available from their website). You pay $25 for it but that is put as credit on your card and can be used against your first bill there, and so is effectively free. If you go to the check in stand of the RFC or T-Rex at any time, however long the line, they will seat you right away. We have been sat within 10 minutes on a busy Saturday night when the waiting time was 90 minutes.

@MyGirlLovesTink, that's great to hear. Enjoy!
@Sorrel, how does Landry's card exactly work? I have ADR at T-Rex and Yak and Yati and I believe they accept Landry's card? Is it one time or one year fee of $25 and you get $25 back to use at the restaurant? What happens after you use up $25? Thank you

Yes, it's a one-time fee and it is put onto your card to be used. After that you earn points on your card each time you eat there, and they can add up to money to be spent (I believe your card spend comes off in increments of $25). You also get an extra free $25 on it during your birthday month to be used during that month :) You don;t have to add any more money to it. The perk of being able to breeze past the line and not have to make an ADR is fab, and they do treat you really well!

Sorry to use this thread for Landry question but I have more questions. Still little confused here. So after I pay $25, I get $25 on my card to use on my visit to T-Rex. I use that up and earn points at Yak and Yati which I don't think it's too much. Since we don't know when we'll be back at WDW, what happens afterwards? Does the card expire? What is the benefits to Landry if person joins for $25 and use up $25 on the first visit and get another $25 for birthday when it's only one time fee? Is there a catch to this? Seem to be too good to be true. :)

A server at the AK Rain Forest Cafe told us about the Landry's card a few years ago. I will have to say it's the best perk we have found at Disney for table service restaurants. We go to Disney about 10 times a year and we end up using it at least once per visit.

As far as I know the points accumulate until you have enough to make $25 and use. This is the bit I don't really think about as I am never sure I will have enough to cash in as I live in the UK and we have very few Landry restaurants! There is no catch to it and it doesn't expire. It is basically a reward and priority card. You do have to use your birthday $25 in your birthday month (it is a birthday reward and I found that to my cost 2 years ago by thinking it would stay on after my birthday month!). I will just add that I didn't have to give proof of my birthday month so there is very little official paperwork required. :) I assume the benefits to Landry are that you are more likely to eat or drink with them if you are able to bypass the line! We often pop in for drinks and snacks for an hour because we can, whereas we wouldn't bother if we did not have the card. It is lovely being able to wave your card at the check in desk and be waved through!!!
