What are the chances without an ADR that we can eat at T-Rex (DTD)? Would lunch or dinner be a better bet?

Hi,

You can never count on a walk-up at any WDW restaurant (especially in June, which is a busy month) but it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck!

We walked up last June, but last year it was mostly walkups I'm not sure if that has changed, we waited about 50 minutes.

We walked up & got a table once during Spring Break when it was pretty crowded. We went for early lunch right after they opened

We went last year for the first time and had an ADR ... the walk up line was about 60 people long....July at about 6:30 pm.

I wasn't in the area at lunch so I can't help you with that.

I would make an ADR and then cancel it if you aren't going to use it.

Also, even though you can make the ADR on the website online at disney, I would call the restaurant directly. I couldn't get the date/time I wanted this year online, but when I called I got exactly what I was looking for and even put a request for the room that I wanted.

All three times I have been there I just walk up & the wait is less than 15 minutes.

I've never heard of anyone doing an ADR for T-Rex. It's hugee so the line to wait goes by fast.

Last time I was there was the week of May 16 & no wait.

Have a great trip!

We are headin down to "lando" next week as my dd3 calls it and I just called Trex today and got a ressie for next wed at 6:45 I didnt want to chance it.....for this time of year for dinner.

their direct number is 407-828-8739

We were there on May 10 and had ADRs. You can make them on WDW's reservation site or you can call TRex (which is what I did). With an ADR, you walk up to the side of the podium (passing all those in line waiting to get a wait time) and tell them you have a reservation. They print you off a slip and send you to the hostess to be seated. I love ADRs there!!!

We walked up on a sat night in Feb at 6:30ish and had a 40 minute wait. My husband waited and the kids and I played at the lego store so not bad at all. There was a whole mob out front, two lines and total confusion. The line was even longer when we left.

For June I would either call to make a reservation or walk up at an odd time. Right at opening or mid afternoon on a week day kind of thing.

If you go at an "off" time you can probably just walk up without a horrible wait. Like do lunch around 11, or dinner at around 4....that seems to help everywhere.

Will get you in though, longer wait, but you will get it before the time they tell you

I made an ADR for the first night we arrive in September, but now our plane schedule changed and I know we're not going to be able to make our time. I'm going to call and see if they'll push it back a few hours.

How the food?

We went when if first opened and the food was not great

So, we love the "look" but didn't go back on the last two trips because the food was lacking. I wonder if that's why its easy to walk-in and not always have a ADR

I want to go back... any good reports?

We like the food at House of Blues and Earl of Sandwich, so its hard for us to eat at T-Rex after the dry sandwich they gave us the first time we tried it.

We were thrilled with our meal in February. Both my husband and I had large salads which were fresh and quite good. My kids had regular kid food so nothing amazing there. Dessert were little doughnut hole meteors you dunk in chocolate or caramel which were warm & gooey and fabulous.

We always thought Rainforest was just OK at WDW. We have a local one which is beyond disgusting. We could not even finish our meals. I personally would have never tried T-Rex because of this. But my husband wanted to see it. We will certainly go back.

Thanks.... we went when they first opened. I was hoping that our sub-par food was just a result of the staff getting up to speed. :wizard:
