Walk up for our departure day breakfast?

Our return flights have changed and we now have more time on our last day. I was hoping to make reservations for a fun (character?) breakfast for our last morning but I'm having no luck making reservations on MDE. So my question is about walk up guests...does anyone have experience doing this? Does Chef Mickey or Cape May hold any tables for walk up guests? What might a typical wait look like? We are pretty flexible and have no other plans so we can afford to wait some for a table, but we'd also hate to spend our entire morning sitting around waiting! :) Also up for other restaurant suggestions - doesn't have to be character. If there is another restaurant that is fun or worth going to - to see the resort for example, we're up for that too. Thanks for any advice /suggestions offered!

I haven't tried to walk-up to a character breakfast, so I don't know how those go specifically. I do know that for lunch and dinner it's hit or miss. The more popular the venue, the less likely they'll accept walk-ups (I've been there when BOG, CRT, Sci Fi, Le Cellier, and Narcoossee's were turning away walk ups). They do not hold any tables for walk-ups, but that doesn't mean they don't accept walk-ups. It's a day-by-day type of thing and depends on how busy they are. I would stalk the reservation site between now and when you want to eat and see if you can snag an ADR. People's plans do change, so ADRs do come open.

I would keep trying for a reservation. When I checked for tomorrow I was amazed at how many reservations came up. Also check the cancelation thread for your month.

Thank you so much for the advice...I still have a little more than a month away so I will definitely be stalking the reservations site and the cancellations page here on the boards! Hoping something will pop up!
