We are new Fla residents, and just bought AP. Of course the concept is to be able to be flexible and go whenever we feel like it. This makes dining ADR very difficult. Short of Cal Grill for fw time, etc, what are the odds of 2 people being able to walk up and get a table without say, an hour wait? or this just isnt possible these days with the number of ADR made?

First let me just say, "Lucky you!"
Actually, maybe not walk up, BUT quite possibly/probably 24 hour advance...
A lot of ADRs get cx within the 24 hour period because of the $10.00 charge per person on a held cc. So many times there is a change of plans with openings for the restaurant the next day. Or even early that am. I wouldn't do walk up, but I would try checking MDE...
JMHO

right, good idea...That whole get charged for cancelling in less than 24 hours thing isn't great either. I get it completely, but still...

We tried to do a walk up for some restaurants last trip and had very little success. Be Our Guest had over an hour wait for lunch.
It's always worth a shot, but I think it's better to keep checking for reservations.

I think that all came into play when so many ADRs were made many years ago for free dining, and people would make multiple ADRs per meal time and then bag whatever one they didn't want. So, it became a necessity. One thing I have found, now that they require it is that a LOT of ADRs become available the week leading up to the date.
