Walk-up at Boma For Dinner, Early December 2010

This is my first post here after scouring the boards for a month or so, ever since we booked our vacation. Love this site!!!

Anyway, we have changed our plans a little, and won't be able to use the ADR I made for Boma. We still really want to eat there, but the day that we could go, they are completely booked.

Any ideas on whether or not we, a party of 6, would be able to walk-up and get a table on a Thursday, the week after Thanksgiving? We'd be arriving early, as we have tickets to the MVMCP that night.

I honestly don't know but I can tell you that I would be there the minute they opened for the best chance. Also keep calling and see if there are any openings.

If the Thursday in early December is the date that is already all booked, I would not expect to walk-up and get any sort of table that day. Just keep on trying, a lot can happen between then and now.

I would not count on a walk-up there that week, especially for a large party. If you want to try, go as soon as they open, but have an alternative in mind in case they can't seat you or give you a long wait.

Thanks for the replies. That is kind of what I had gathered from reading some of the forums. I made an ADR at The Wave in the Contemporary resort, just in case, so if we can't get seated, at least we have a back-up plan.

Does anyone know if the restaurants, like Boma, have numbers where you could call them directly and see what the wait would be for a walk-up?

The restaurants do have direct phone numbers but I do not know if you will be able to use one to reach anybody who can give you that information.

We walked up once and they had no problem fitting us in. it was dinner time and all we did was have to wait approximately a 1/2 hour.

Keep checking the online dining reservation page to see if someone has canceled. There is still plenty of time.

If nothing opens up you can check with the concierge at your resort everyday once you get to WDW.

Unless you are already at AKL or AK, I would not make a special trip there on the off chance they are taking walk ups.

We were 'accidental' walkups the first week of Dec. last year (long story.) They fit us in - a part of 4, but we waited a long time (well over an hour) - if you have elsewhere to go I'd keep trying to get reservations that work w/ your schedule.
