We will be having dinner at Napa Rose :woohoo: and would like to stroll through the parks afterwards. Is it possible to walk to the park? and about how far is it? I'm still a DLR newbie and getting used to the fact that everything is so much closer together that at WDW! Also would you park at the hotel or use Mickey and Friends garage?

TIA!!

It's a very easy walk to either. The DCA entrance is right by Napa Rose, and DL would be about a 10-minute walk.

It's best to park at GCH either in self-park or Valet or even DTD parking if you aren't staying too long. The first three hours in the DTD lot is free.

Planning-wise, enter DCA through the GCH entrance - and after you finish strolling DCA, hop over to DL.

Thank you so much! Looking forward to spending our anniversary in a magical place :cloud9: Sounds like we'll park at GCH and walk to the parks after dessert...if we can still walk after dinner :rotfl:

When we have dined at Napa Rose we valet at GCH, and I do not recall having to pay for parking, just tipping.
Parking in the DTD lot you can have your parking validated for an additional 2 hours at the restaurant so it would be a total of 5 hours of free parking :-)

Not happening unless he's staying at a DLR hotel.

We were able to use the entrance in the afternoons and evenings without having our room keys checked. Showing the receipt from Napa Rose might work if they did ask for a key.

Park at DTD, get your receipt validated and you will get 5 free hours of parking. And you can definitely walk to the parks from Napa Rose!

You get free valet at the Grand Californian Hotel when you dine at the Napa Rose (just tip the valet when you get your car). If you are going to be at the resort no more than 5 hours at the most, then I would recommend the valet parking. Validate your ticket, and go to California Adventure through the entrance next to Napa Rose.

If you think you will be there for more than 5 hours then I recommend parking at Mickey & Friends.

I'm fairly certain we've always been checked to be hotel guests using the entrance, but the worst they can say is go around through DTD.

My experience has been that we have been able to use the Grand Californian entrance to California Adventure, especially if you have eaten at one of the restaurants there.

Thanks for all the advice! I did read somewhere that 5 free hours of resort parking were included with the reservation. I just wasn't sure if that was the easiest way place to park. If we have AP's will we be allowed to enter CA from GCH?

The times we've used the GC entrance into DCA we've only been asked for resort ID's in the morning. Later in the day they weren't checking.

That's been our experience too, but keep your receipt, just in case.

This may be an obvious statement, but there are no ticket sales at the GC entrance to DCA. If you don't have some sort of pass then be sure to either buy a scannable paper ticket online ahead of time or purchase one up at the front desk on your way to the restaurant.

The entrance is for "guests" of GCH. Guests being those who stay there but also those who eat there. Keeping the receipt would be helpful in case there's an issue.

I've used the GCH entrance to DCA plenty of times without being a hotel guest, we've eaten at Storyteller's or in DTD and used that entrance without question. We have AP's. You shouldn't have a problem but hold onto your receipt just in case. :)

And we will hold on to the receipt.
Thank you all for your info!
