It's my first time trying to change a reservation under 7 months. We are usually locked and loaded. I had BRV (home resort) booked at 11 mos for Thanksgiving, and we just had to change our plans to a few weeks later. Right now, I have a 2 BR at OKW reserved for the entire 4 nights, but I would like to stay at BWV. I do not want to do a split stay as the day we would move is our planned resort day.

There is a 2 BR Garden View available at BW for the first two nights. What's my best strategy here? I don't want to lose 4 consecutive nights anywhere. I do have some remaining Aug 2019 points I could use as a back-up if I need to have a concurrent reservation for the first two nights, but not enough for two four night reservations. What's my best play? Help!

Thanks!

If you really do not want to move, I would just waitlist the whole four nights at BWV.

IF you are willing to take the chance, book the split stay now and waitlist the two nights at BWV. pixiedust:

I don't have advise on the the waitlist.

But what did you plan to do on your resort day? You have to leave the room, but can still swim and whatever.
When we did a split stay, we slept in, left the room just before 11, went to lunch , sat by a beach, took our time getting to the next room. If the room was ready 2 ish great, if not we just hung out.

The drawback of course of just booking the two nights is you could end up with a split stay. The pros are getting two nights via wait list are easier than 1. I just did that with my Dec trip. But, I was willing to risk a split stay. I ended up being able to get all 4 nights in a SV 1 bedroom at BWV. Of course, I did it through stalking the website and got it that way vs. the website. It all comes down to your risk level!! When I split stay, I make change day a Disney Springs day so that we get up later, head there for lunch, a little shopping, and then by the time we get to the new resort, we've been lucky that room is ready (around 3). But, even if you are doing a resort day, you can still make it work as mentioned above. Good luck!

I'd book the 2 nights at BWV with the extra points and waitlist the last 2 nights to replace the OKW. If it matches then MS can combine the BWV reservations together into a single one as long as it's the same roomy size and view.
