We are going to disney on december 7th. Its suppose to be a slower time of year? How hard is it going to be to walk into a place and try to get a seat? I know its going to depend on how many of us there are but just in general is it extremly hard to get a seat at resturants?

Depends on the restaurant. If you are want a sit down meal at MK...probably not a chance....however, if you want a sit down at your resort or DTD? Shouldn't be a huge problem. You just can't be picky.

although it might be listed as a slow time of year it is the most ideal time for people with dvc memberships to travel to wdw. I would recommend making the adr for the rest. that you want to eat at for sure and then winging the rest

For a character meal, I'd say you won't have any luck. For other restaurants, your chances are better. As you said, party size will be a factor. If it's just two people, my experience is that you should be able to get in some places without too long a wait. Also, instead of walking up and asking if there's any availability, try calling the dining number and asking what's open that day for the meal you want. (For example, you find yourself at Magic Kingdom in the morning, you can call and ask about MK restaurants for lunch or dinner.) People do cancel, so it never hurts to call and ask or to walk-up and ask. But of course, if there are only two adults, I believe you're going to have more luck than if you're a family of six. My two cents! :)

It definitely depends on the restaurant. We saw them turning away walk ins at LeCellier and Chef Mickey's during that same time frame. As long as you dont' want to eat at the popular restaurants and have flexibility, you'll be fine.

I go every year during the second or third week of Dec and have seen walkups turned away every year at some restaurants, but have also seen some walkups accepted. It will just depend on the restaurant, time of day, and alot of pixie dust.

Places I've seen people turned away that time of year are: Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Le Cellier, Cape May, Sci Fi Dine In, Hollywood & Vine, Mama Melrose, 50's Prime Time, CRT, and Liberty Tree Tavern.
