Walk-ing Back to Disney! COMPLETED 10/16! A Fall 2014 PTR!

hahahaha, acceptable time to pack......hope it's about 30 days cause that's how I spent my day! :lmao: I packed everything in labeled Ziploc baggies so that we wouldn't have to find stuff all over the hotel room. I'm feeling pretty organized right now. lol:banana:

Of course, I still have a HUGE list of things to do. I'm sure I will be busy right up until we leave. I don't know how we have been planning for two years and I have all of this to do NOW :confused3

Buttons look great! Thanks for mine!

Teehee!! It's funny how it sorta sneaks uup on you, even though you spent all this time watching the days go by!

followed you over from my PTR - now off to catch up and I've got your last TR bookmarked to read! :)

Yay! Let me know how you like it!

Your shoes look great! It is indeed the comfort that counts. I love my Keens, but I do lament the fact that they are ugly. But I wear them constantly and am happy for a sandal I can wear!

I got my buttons at Michaels and was a bit surprised at the size. They are going to be one large button. When I brought them home and put them over the printout, it was just right, so I guess I got the right ones.

You've been so efficient with your planning and your crafts, you don't have much to do. I've never had that problem myself.:rolleyes1 I'm sure you'll find a few last minute things to occupy your time.

I'm going to wish you an early :bday: because I won't be on very much if at all for the next couple of days. I know you already celebrated (at least I think I read that somewhere) but enjoy your day and make it special!!

The buttons were kinda big, I bought 2 sizes, the big one for my Dis button, and the small ones for the kids name badges.

Thank you for the birthday wishes too!

You're right, I will totally find more things to do! :lmao:

Getting closer. I am all caught up, so you can post again. :rolleyes1

Ask, and you shall receive! pixiedust:

I hope your birthday was fabulous!! Sounds like you guys had a fun time :goodvibes

YAY for Mickey Mail!!! ahhhh I can't wait, we're all getting so close now! :cheer2:

as for Disneyquest - I used to work there so I'm more familiar than I'd like to be with the place haha. Honestly, I don't know if you guys would find it worth it to spend the money to go. It's a fun place for kids that are, I don't know...maybe between 8-13? and even then, it doesn't take more than 2-3 hours to do everything in the building. There's very little for kids under about 7 to do - one floor has a section of arcade games mostly geared toward kids but the rest is mainly for teens/adults. I will say that Fix-It Felix Jr. is really fun and cute, haha but that's pretty much the only Wreck-it Ralph thing in there. I know some families LOVE DQ and go there multiple times a trip, but I'm not sure if it would be the best choice if you're on the fence about it. just my opinion of course, but I hope that helps a little bit!! :thumbsup2

the girls looked so cute on pajama day!! Those pj's are really cute. Too bad they don't come in my size! :lmao: I'll have to Google "how to clean pennies". I was thinking of washing them afterwards, but if I have time, I may do them ahead. The ones I have are pretty shiney, but could use a good cleaning! I, too, only have one more paycheck before I leave. That's a bit nerveracking! (did I spell that right? It doesn't look right. Oh well!) I love that Donald noticed the shoes you did!! How awesome is that!!!

I need to start gathering pennies and cleaning them! I decided just in the last few days to do the pressed pennies thing so...
I love their jammies! How fun that they do that at church. The girls must have loved that!
I love it that you had hot cocoa and cookies for Nightmare before Christmas. That is awesome.
Oh- and HOW FUN to see your shoes in Disney!!! You do such a good job. She looks thrilled with them.

Ooooo--shiny pennies! I gotta get our pennies gathered and cleaned up!

I'm glad you had such a great birthday--food trucks sound amazing! You deserved a great day!

We love nightmare! Good choice! And adorable pjs on your sweet girls!

I can't believe we are 30 days out. Dh will be starting a new job and can't go so it will just be me and my 8 year old.

I feel like I have so much more to do. So...... Much..... More........

Have to say I loved the frozen jammies. Ok if you get water park fun and more tickets do you get hard tickets for the more part?? If so we could give you one as we will have extras. If no are on magic band maybe we could lend you a magic band when you go to disneyquest? anyone know?

I'm so glad you had a great birthday! Your girls are darling in those jammies!! They are darling anyway, but just such cuteness with the jams!

I did love that pic of the Donald checking out D's shoes that you painted! I think he was truly bowled over by them. I know I was!

As for the "borrowing" the magic bands, we did that when we took Charlotte in February. Emily and Josh didn't have any, so we just had them wear ours and take a couple of our fastpasses with Charlotte. That was before everyone had bands, though, so I'm not sure how that would work. I know the vouchers are attached to your magic bands, so we can't just give them away. I know we won't be going to Disney Quest either.

Well, I hope you have a great weekend coming up. Any big plans for picnics or such? When I visit my sister in Texas, I try to stay indoors as much as possible or in her pool. Especially in August! Have a good one!

The girls are precious in their matching Frozen pjs. Too cute!!
We've never done the Quest, so I can't comment on that.

I love your movie night. I need to plan some of those this fall to get my kids pumped. :)
You are getting so close!

Thank you for your input on that! That's kinda what I was thinking. We may decide in the moment if we want to do it, if not there is plenty to do around DTD, like SHOP! I am too worried about it! :)

Thanks! The penny cleaning was easy, soak your pennies in 1/4 c of vinegar mixed with 1 tsp of salt for about 5 min. (its best to use pre- 1982 pennies bc they have higher copper content and will be shinier) and then after the soak rub them down with a pencil eraser, that will REALLY make them shine! That's it! FYI- the larger M&M mini's tube held 29 pennies and $14.50 in quarters!

I need to start gathering pennies and cleaning them! I decided just in the last few days to do the pressed pennies thing so...

Read the above mention stuff on cleaning them! :) It was fun, your girls will enjoy cleaning them too! And yes, my church is awesome and the kids LOVED going to church in jammies!

Read above on penny cleaning!! A lot of people dont realize the eraser trick! But its amazing! :thumbsup2

I feel like I have so much more to do. So...... Much..... More........

Well that's kinda fun, a girls only trip! :goodvibes I could see doing that, but pretty sure my hubby wouldn't want to be left out bc he loves Disney too much! :lmao:

Don't stress, it will all come together before you leave! ::yes::

Have to say I loved the frozen jammies. Ok if you get water park fun and more tickets do you get hard tickets for the more part?? If so we could give you one as we will have extras. If no are on magic band maybe we could lend you a magic band when you go to disneyquest? anyone know?

Well, I read up on it and the voucher has to be used in the presence of the holder (names are on it) so the only way we could use someone elses voucher would be if they were there at DTD with us and ran in and redeemed it and had it linked to one of our bands. So I am just not going to stress, I know most of it is too big for my kids to do anyway, so we may just skip it again, more time to SHOP!

I'm so glad you had a great birthday! Your girls are darling in those jammies!! They are darling anyway, but just such cuteness with the jams!

:lmao: I can barely stand walking out to my car it's so HOT right now! The food truck place is sorta like a picnic though, because its outdoor and stuff and we actually are going there again tonight! But we wait until like 7:30, lol...when the sun goes down it's not so bad!

The girls are precious in their matching Frozen pjs. Too cute!!
We've never done the Quest, so I can't comment on that.

You are getting so close!

Yes! Movie nights are fun, I don't go all out, but man, some people do great with them (like Annegirl or JackieMarie or STLMickeyMom) but I would def recommend it, whether you do them big or small, its so fun. We sat down and made a list of the ones we wanted to watch before our trip!

Quick little update I will attach here because I am SO excited, and don't have enough stuff to write about to do a big one, but I woke up to this lovely email today!! SQUEEEEEE!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Love the pi's - the girls looked great! Getting the pennies ready is a great idea, I'll have to do that with G.

Magic Bands on their way!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

If Olivia's ticket is $40 then no I would say pass. The wreck it Wralph games are available as an app for your phone. There is a kinda nifty pirates game and the buzz lightyear bumper car game is fun but takes some skill. There is cyber space mountain but DH says that sum of all thrills is better. You may get 2-4 hours of fun at DQ but thats about it.

Happy to hear you had a nice birthday! And got to stock up on some Disney giftcards! I'm sure you have already spent them in your daydreams!! :goodvibes

Ooooh pennies!! Yay! I'm going to redo mine this weekend and then use the eraser as you suggested.

I love Nightmare Before Christmas, its one of my favorite movies ever. Although I don't think I listed it in my PTR, it doesn't stand out to me as a Disney movie and yet I know its in the parks! lol Did the girls like it?

Yay pajama day!! I wish we could do that at work. You know, just one day a year is all I ask! lol

Awww! Terri's shoes - Now Donald Duck approved!! :thumbsup2

I can't really weigh in on the Disney Quest question. But I think if you decide to do it its something you can buy day of, so you can play it by ear (although its hard cause its nice to have it all planned I know!). I'm sure there will be enough to do without it as well. (Or maybe someone you are having a dismeet with will have an extra they don't plan to use?)

You are in your twenties! Thats so exciting!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Oh so exciting! Sounds like you had a fantastic birthday!

Your girls in their matching pjs are so super cute!

I saw someone else also said this but you can get the wreck it Ralph game as an app. We all really love to play it. I have never been to disney quest, so I don't really have advise for you :)

Just popping in to say HI:wave:

Your girls are just adorable…I could just squeeze them! Can't wait to see how you bling out your magic bands. I'm sure they will be epic!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi! did you get your be our guest lunch email yet? i am patiently... or not so patiently.... waiting....

Aww thanks, I have TOTALLY been spending the gift cards in my mind! LOL!

Yes, do the pennies again with the eraser trick, worked like a charm!

The girls love Nightmare, theyve seen it many times before, but Liv had been wanting some Cocoa, so I figured a movie night would be a good excuse! I agree, it doesnt stand out as Disney, but I figure it will be very prominent in the parks around Halloween!

And YES!! Duck approved!! LOL!!! :rotfl:

Yup, in the twenties and awfully close to the teens now!!

Oh so exciting! Sounds like you had a fantastic birthday!

Good to know about the app, I will probably do that instead of wasting $ on DQ, the girls are too little for any of the big ride/games anyway.

Just popping in to say HI:wave:

Heehee, I am excited to show you my bands in just a few! ;)

Happy belated birthday!

Yay for magic bands shipping!

Thanks and yes, YAY!!

Hi! did you get your be our guest lunch email yet? i am patiently... or not so patiently.... waiting....

Nope. I don't think I will bc today is the day I should have received it according to when others did, but oh well, I will book through the link and hope for the best. I think the day I need I can book on Friday. And if they don't accept it (they did last year) then I am planning an early lunch that day anyway and will wait standby, with such low crowds I am not worried AT ALL!

So guess what!?!? My Magic Bands were expected to arrive Thursday, but they actually arrived YESTERDAY!! YAY!!! :cool1:

Of course, I have know what I wanted to paint on them for ages, so I wasted no time, and I did them today while the girls napped...

So FINALLY, here they are!!

Orange Bird def turned out to be my fave! He is just too adorable, kinda wishing he was my band and not Maddie's, lol... maybe I should have gotten an Orange Bird bag from D~!!! GAH! Why do I think of all the fun, unique ideas when it's too late!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Sigh... :confused3

Anyway, I only need to seal them still, I want to let them dry overnight completely before doing so, so I will probably do one coat tomorrow, and one the day after. I am going to use a spray on acrylic sealer, so cross your fingers it all works out. I know D~ used the same and I believe her bands held up fine, so my hopes are high.

Know what else my hopes are high for?!?! WAIT TIMES!! Omg, I have been keeping an eye on them and they are INSANE this week! They are practically non-existent! Even A&E and 7DMT are really low! Let's hope it stays this was at the end of month and beginning of Oct for me!

New news the past few days. My AMAZING hubby pulled an INSANE shift the other day for a side job, he worked from 7am to 1:30am for our parade and county fair, earning himself a bunch of overtime and a side job check of $400! All for Disney! He has been too awesome with offering to work a side job every single weekend last month and a few this month prior to our trip too. So today I very happily purchased a $400 gift card! EEEEEP! We are now only $100 away from our $2000 goal for spending money! And I know my mom has another $50 birthday gift card for me I haven't gotten yet, so we will for sure be able to meet our goal, and it feels SO GOOD to meet that goal!! It also felt good to hold and see all these bad boys...

Now that's a nice hand! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Also new, I bought MORE necklaces, I can't help myself... hahaha...

Hahah, we also have bought ALL our toiletries, and our new portable charger and extra camera battery shipped yesterday. Good friends of ours are letting us borrow their GoPro for video, so basically, I have nearly everything for our trip!! How did this happen!! I am so EXCITED! And a little bored, lol... so my list is VERY small now:

- Grab a few more Halloween decor items for window
- Get tip money
- Book Austin Hotel for night before flight out
- Pack
- Print out my daily cards (waiting til last minute in case any changes)
- Send out Tess & Lori's mail before trip (this one is not really FOR Disney, but I need to do it soon! LoL!)

That's it! Seriously! No joke, I am BORED! I sit around looking at Disney stuff all day just willing the time to pass, lol.. :rolleyes1

In other, other news, we are about 99% sure we will book a bounceback when we go. I have seen the offer and it's Free Dining next fall, Aug 20-Oct 2, and it would make a trip super cheap again, my only hesitation is that I would REALLY love to see Disney at Christmas time, so I don't know if I'd rather pay more for that, or just have a cheap trip I know we can afford easily planned. Decisions, decisions... any input would be GREAT!

Hope all is well with YOU! 24 Days!!

I LOVE your magic bands!!!  EEEEK!! Only 24 more days! And also, that is a nice hand! :rotfl:

Can I ask what you use to see wait times?
