Walk-ing Back to Disney! COMPLETED 10/16! A Fall 2014 PTR!

OH MY GOSH!!! (You can't hear me, but I totally just singsonged that out loud!) I LOVE the family costume idea! I hope you post lots of pics! And I think you should totally have hippo ears--how stinkin cute would that be?!?

Our girls are in love with that mirror at the Disney store too! Looks like a successful trip--but really, what trip to the Disney store isn't good?

Oh--just wanted to add--I saw on kennythepirate.com that Anna and Elsa aren't leaving the parks anytime soon. They may move to a different location or to Hollywood but they'll be there for quite awhile. And how much will they love Olivia's bag and book?!?

Yay! Good to know about A&E... I wonder if any of the rumors are true about them doing a Frozen breakfast at Akershus? Wouldn't that be neat? No matter what we will just be happy to meet them!

I LOVE your costumes! What a cute idea. I think that will be easy to pack and put together, so it's perfect.

I will be honest I was sort of dying to know what you are going to do. MNsSHP costumes are a bit of an obsession for me right now. Tonight DD said she wanted daddy to be a snowman, so she wants to do Frozen. I was kind of leaning that way as well, but I am sort of notorious for changing my mind, so we will see....

I love a trip to the Disney store it's like a bit of the magic at home. Looks like you had a good time.

Loved your great TDS deals!!! I wish I would have known that Duffy was on clearance - I would love one for myself - he is soooo cute! Oh well - I am sure they are gone by now.

And I love family costume ideas! Yours is great! I have a fantastic one for us - if we ever make it back to WDW during Halloween!

D~

TDS is a fantastic place to PLAY!!!! and to get a little Disney love from time to time!!
The clearance items are the BEST! You can get some serious deals!!!! :cheer2: and you SCORED!!!

Love the idea of Doc Mc Stuffins!!! I cannot wait to see you all dressed up!!! are you going to dress up the stroller too???

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG is the AUTOGRAPH BOOK/BAG WAY TOO CUTE!!!!!!!
and a GREAT IDEA!!!!! I WISH i had these from the past trips!!! :scratchin

Thanks! I love the idea of Frozen too! But we wanted to just do something handmade and cheap, I know if we did frozen we'd be buying those expensive dresses. I still will probably, but once they're clearanced! Lol!

It was odd, usually what's on clearance at my Dis Store is also on clearance online, but not the Duffy's....they must be doing away with them in the stores? I saw no outfits or anything.. Who knows.

Hadn't thought about the stroller but maybe I will! Doc does have her mobile unit now!! I know I don't want to go too elaborate, I want to be comfortable and able to ride rides or whatever we might do!

We stumbled upon that autograph book and bag last year. I was originally just looking for a personalized book and found the seller who does the bags with it! They're only like $14 on etsy or ebay, which is as much as buying a disney book! Plus the bag was so great last time! Olivia always had her book right with her for easy access! And she kept all her pins in it to trade also!

That's so funny! I just said the same thing on another TR--I'd love to meet Anna and Elsa but I'd love it even more if I could just go to a meal and meet them there and not stand in a line! Is a frozen breakfast a rumor? I'd be all over that!

I heard that on a couple other boards but I haven't found any real evidence of it. Just some blogger who posted he'd like to see that. Seems like a good idea to me!

Also, there were some things we did last time that worked really great for us that we will do again…

Making rope drop!
This made all the difference in the world!! We literally grabbed our breakfast to go in the strollers almost every morning and we made rope drop every day of our trip. The amount of character meets and rides we could do in those first few morning hours was amazing! I will have us up again same as last time, aside from the one or two days I have set for us to sleep in for the MNSSHP! :yay:

Renting our Stroller
Maddie can walk pretty good now, and it was nice not to fuss with the stroller in the airport, so I liked just renting one in Orlando. We ordered through Kingdom Strollers last time and that stroller was GREAT! It was so smooth, easy to fold up, and just perfect for what we needed. I will definitely be doing this again! I love how it was just delivered to our hotel, so easy! We just made an extra sign to clip on so we could find it easily and all was good! :)

Matching Shirts!
I LOVED our shirts! The pictures on our matching days were so fabulous, and it made it so easy to find members of our group. I really just love everything about matching attire and we plan to do this every day this trip!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
I originally thought this would be something each of our girls would only do once due to price, but turns out I loved it just as much as Olivia! Watching her become a princess and get the royal treatment for the day was the highlight of hers and my trip. It was worth every penny!! When asked what one thing she wanted to do again this time she immediately said the BBB! So it shall be done! I will buy the dress there again too, because I found that to be extra magical, and the dresses Disney has are high quality and fitted, but no shoes this time, heels are not practical in The World! princess:

Pin Trading & Pressed Pennies
Olivia, Chris and I all got into the pin trading! We had 75 pins last time and traded all of them! We seriously loved it! We plan to buy EVEN MORE pins this time!! Also, we never planned on pressed pennies but Olivia got into that as well, so I plan to fully embrace it this time and make her a pressed penny container! :hyper:

So there you have it! My ultimate list of must-do’s for this trip!!

I love your lists! They make mine look so tossed together and unplanned! Can I go on your trip instead? :rotfl2:

We never make rope drop. I think we've seen the show at MK once in our lives. Good for you for getting your crew up and moving early! One day maybe we'll make it again...

We rented our stroller from them too! We didn't have any problems and were glad to have it. I'm thinking we might try to go without it this trip. We did the day at AK and most of Hollywood without it so maybe we won't need one. I'm nervous to go without it though--it's nice to have when the "my little legs are so tired! Carry me!" whining hits because I'm not carrying anybody.

I liked our matching shirts too. Can't wait to see yours for this trip!

Lol...I am a woman of lists that's for sure!

Yea I like having the extra storage of the stroller too! I need places to put my drinks and stuff. I only hate it on the buses!

I'll probably start making shirts soon! I can't wait to show them off!

Hi, just read a thread (whats the most unusual thing you take to Disney and why)........took me 2 days -106 pages but I have more stuff for my list now so Raina will be pulling her hair out....lol Also checked out the thread about decorating your magic bands, have to say lot's of talent there. but I did find one her DH would like so I sent her that pic.....he wants a grey band, boaring. so if your on the dinning plan do they still charge a 10 dollar hold on your credit card against cancelation. And is that per reservation or per person on the reservation??? Anyone?? I am on a fixed income so I really have to watch what they charge against my card.... I did manage a 50 dollar GC while grocery shopping though ;) ....a little here a little there before you know it I will have the balance paid off. :thumbsup2

I know my card was never charged. It's only if you cancel the reservation less than 24 hours in advance that they charge you $25 I believe. They shouldn't put a hold on your card for reservations unless that VERY recently changed. I would have definitely noticed that!

I did the same thing buying $50 gift cards here and there and we ended up with $700 worth on our last trip! It's a good disney savings!

All the MB's are SO cool! I haven't figured what I'll do to mine yet...hmmmm.

Great idea to have your do not miss list all figured out. I think your don't are spot on - you can't do everything.

spiritsim - I wanted to say that Disney will not charge your credit card unless you don't make it to the restaurant or you cancel less then 24 hours (actually I think it might be the night before but you should double check when you make the reservation). They will charge you $10 per person. So if the reservation is for 4 people they will charge you $40 if you don't show up. If one or more person(s) makes the ADR they don't charge any cancellation fee(s). They do charge your credit card in advance for CRT and maybe some other premium restaurants unless the dining plan is part of your reservation and you will be using that for your meal - but you do have to give them a credit card in case you cancel - for that one they might not charge the entire cost if you don't cancel.

Terri - I love the idea of taking that big clip to hold your mugs together. It will be easier to grab them up at the end of the night. I can stand to drink the ice water you get from all the counter service restaurants at the parks except Magic Kingdom. MK water is yucky! I also like to bring a tote bag or even a reusable grocery bag to stick all the stuff you've accumulated during a day in the park from the stroller when folding it up. That might be useful for you - especially if you are carrying two kids and a stroller onto the bus. We also always take a towel from the resort into the park - we've used it to block the sun from the baby in the stroller, dry off a kid that just got out of the splash zone, saved our spot for the parades, prevented a dripping mickey bar from getting on a princess dress and anything else we can think of.

LOVE the Halloween costume idea. Can't wait to see it all come together.

Towel is a great idea! I don't think we carried one last time, and we did get wet a few times! Also for the parades, great idea.

Last trip we had 2 bags each day and I hated it. So hard to carry bags, sleeping children, stroller and all the things that didn't fit in the bags! This time I am streamlining and bringing the minimum! I WILL find a way to only have 1 bag! :-)

Thanks for the advice!

Love your lists! We have similar things that we want to do in HS and MK. Enchanted Tales with Belle and the muppets are musts for us on this trip! I am really excited to see the new talking Mickey!

I wish we could make rope drop! We are just not that family! We all have a hard time getting going in the mornings! I admire you all for getting there though. Its seems like a great way to see and do a lot!

I really love Liz's towel idea! We have never carried one with us - but I can think of many times it would have been very useful.

We are now into carrying "as little as possible" - so I wouldn't carry a towel, but I think if you are at the stroller age - it would be a necessity to carry.

BTW... Thanks for posting the link to the MB decorating in Mo's PTR... Of course - I HAD to go look... Sigh. LOL

D~

We will have Frank's EVC and a stroller......

I was planning on bringing a little handtowel too. And we got inflatable pillows for the parade...don't know how well it will shrink back down though...oh well, if it turns into a one time use thing at least we didn't pay much ;)

BTW, right now we are planning on doing MNSSHP the same day as you :yay::yay::yay: Maybe we can meet up for a dance party, the girls would love that!!!

Have you watched YouTube videos of the talking Mickey yet? He's soooo cool! I'm pretty excited for that myself!

Yea, rope drops not for everyone! Lol! But our kids are early risers as is, so it's not hard for us. They always wake up before us normally and Olivia always says that she gets up "to watch the sun rise" EVERY day! I have weird kids...lol!
