Walk-ing Back to Disney! COMPLETED 10/16! A Fall 2014 PTR!

I am loving the PTR! I am reading through your last TR and I love all the details! I haven't been to Disney since I was in elementary school! We're going for our first family visit with our 3 boys (they will be 4, 2, and 1.5 on the trip) October 19-25. My parents are coming along with us as well. I think I'm going to start a PTR just to have a place to gather all my ideas and talk things out (since my husband is not into Disney planning at all).
Oh you definitely should do a PTR!! It's such a great way to get your plans down! And sometimes people point out things that are so helpful to your plans! Plus you get to obsess over all things Disney and not have to worry about judgement! Lol!

Those sound like really fun ages to take the kiddos! Good thing you'll have your parents because it really is soooo helpful! The advantage of having them soooo outweighs the disadvantage of having a large group, it's hardly an issue bc Disney is so used to catering I large groups anyway.

I'm soooo glad you're enjoying my reports! I'm just happy anyone reads them and comments at all! Haha ;)

It's so fun to do the TR also because you get to relive your whole trip! My mom in law wants to print my entire TR off and bind it, lol!

Please comment for me when you get your PTR up so I can go follow along! Stinks we aren't overlapping! Have you picked out ADRs yet? Are you doing DDP? Which resort? Lol, I love the details, sorry! Nothing more fun than Disney trip planning for me!!!

I think I'll start a PTR this weekend! I'm really excited to have my parents there for extra help! I'm not sure we could do a solo trip...maybe in a few years!

We've already booked at AOA in the Nemo family suites. We're going to all share one room - it will be crowded but we'll only be able to share a room for another year or so until my youngest turns 3. We're going to DDP and hoping to get it FREE!

I'm a total planner so I already have a good idea of what ADRs I want and event the QS meals. I know we're doing lots of character meals - Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Hollywood & Vine, and Crystal Palace (CP is a maybe). And we're thinking of trying Mickey's Backyard BBQ - have you heard anything about that? I'm afraid my kids wouldn't last through Hoop De Doo.

I'll let you know when I start my PTR!

Oh and I'm reading your last TR now. I feel a little like a stalker but I love the details! Thanks for posting!

I love stalkers! At least the Disney kind! ;)

Lol! I haven't heard much on the Backyard BBQ but I'm sure the food is great bc it's similar to hoop dee! You'd be surprised, but Maddie sat through HDDMR great at 14 months! It's very entertaining for little all the way to bigs! And the way they space the show with the eating works great for little guys!

Yay for AoA!! I love it there!! Really it's just a place to sleep, so it's ok if you're crammed!

Your plans sound great and veryyyy similar to my first trip! I can't wait for your PTR!

I'm joining in for your ptr finally! Don't know how I've missed it all this time! I'll come back later and get totally caught up. Meanwhile, just letting you know your family is absolutely adorable. Your girls are both little cuties! Can't wait to get caught up, but have to go do some errands with Dan right now. But I'll be back soon to catch up! Have a great weekend!

Yay! Glad you're here! :wave2:

Alright, I am sure most of you have seen the adorable-and-totally-amazing painted shoes on Etsy and such... you know the one's usually made with TOM's or Keds? Well, they usually come along with a heft price tag too! So I've always thought maybe I could do my own simple design, problem is the shoes themselves are pretty cha-ching too!!

Well today I discovered a fun find!! At Hobby Lobby I found these little canvas shoes! They had from toddler sizes through adult!

Price tag? $9.99! Annnnd you can ALWAYS use the online 40% off coupon, bringing them down to $6! Score!

Problems? Well, for me, I have VERY flat feet and suffer from sore feet a lot, especially with a lot of walking. I tried these on and there's just no way I could survive them, at least at Disney! BUT, they would be good for Olivia and Maddie, because they're in the stroller a lot, and we all know Liv has like feet of steel after the whole day she spent walking Magic Kingdom in her princess heels and never complained, despite the huge blisters we found that night!

With a price this cheap I am thinking that I could afford to give painting them a shot! Seems like a fun little craft to do! I looked around on google and pinterest and found some easier designs to start the wheels-a-turnin'... :artist:

***All images of the painted shoes were found via google or pinterest!

That last pair is my FAVE!

I saw on Pinterest that some people like to use fabric paint, or fabric paint pens, while some do acrylic paints. There is something you can use to seal it all too, I'm sure, maybe mod-podge or something??

Anyway, I thought this seemed like a fairly simple idea that someone like me might like to do, so I just thought I would share the thought!! When I get around to trying this myself I will for sure post some photos! :cheer2:

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! I love those shoes!!! I can't wear those at the parks either, but I wish I could because I would SSSOOOO be doing that! I was thinking about finding cheap keds wanna be's for the girls and doing this which I think I stole from your pinterest things! I love all your painted ideas--can't wait to see what you come up with!

Wow, those are some impressively decorated shoes! :worship: Can't wait to see how yours come out. Good find on the affordable shoes! :thumbsup2

I know, stupid flat feet!!

And I love those that I pinned, I am thinking they found that jeweled Minnie head somewhere, I haven't looked for one yet, but I have a HUGE ole box of MILLIONS of jewels in every color and size, lol...so I should do these too!!! Haha... :lmao:

I've seen those jeweled mickey heads on etsy before. I don't know if they had Minnie, but i'm sure someone has them somewhere!

I love the shoes! I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Unfortunately I am just about the least crafty person out there so all of our Disney Magic will be store-bought! I've been stocking up on character shirts for each park when I see them on clearance!

I seriously have been thinking of painting shoes. I have seriously been obsessed! The only thing holding me back was that you have to buy expensive shoes to paint on and I was so afraid I would mess up. Now that I see you can them cheaply at Hobby Lobby well, I can see these happening in my near future!

I read a TR where they were wearing painted shoes and the mom said she used acrylic paint and they held up threw rain and they were even able to wash them, without any kind of sealant but I can only imagine that would make them last any better.

I can not wait to see what you come up with!

Those painted shoes are darling! I hope you do try your hand at them and share your results. I am not the least bit artistic and I could never wear shoes like that either, unfortunately. I just love the Monsters Inc. ones and the Minnie/Mickey ones right below them! You go girl!

oh my gerd!!!!!! I am doing painted shoes too!!!! I have already decided what I'm gonna do.....since I love matching everything, (and I don't want to have to take a bazillion pairs with us....) I am making Minnie heads and sewing on a little piece of fabric/Velcro.../something :confused3. Then I am going to make bows to match the outfits to put on Minnie's head!!! :thumbsup2

I found fake toms at five below for five bucks....also walmart has their own version of keds, and there are some at target which are a bit more, but not too much :cool1:

On my pinterest page is also a pin about using mod podge to apply park maps to shoes....I might try that too, just trying to find some good shoes for that project!!

I have to restrain myself from buying every character shirt I see! I really want us matching and it's rare to find the same shirt in all four of our sizes, lol
