Who has done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour at Disneyland? We are going to do it in June and trying to decide if we should book the 9:30 AM tour time or the 1:30 PM tour time.

Thanks for any advice!

I did the early one when I went last May and it was on a day that the park opened later than when the tour started. I wish I had more specific details, but sadly I dont. Nevertheless, we were able to get into the Main Street area before anyone else. We were asked to stay by the tour gardens, but we were able to get as far as the top of the railroad staircase and get an amazing photo down the center of Main Street with no one there.

When the tour started, the tour guide took us to the partners statue. By this point, Main Street was opened, but the hub was still blocking all entrances to the lands. So, we got to be on the other side of the partners statue, get people free pictures of the castle and get pictures of the hordes waiting to go in.

While the tour itself was pretty awesome, including a stop in Walts Apartment, the early entry and people free views of Main Street and the castle made it for me.

Definitely worth doing again.

FYI...Walt's Apartment is currently NOT part of the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour but you get to go into the Dream Suite.

I took a tour when the park didn't open until 10:00 am too, and I agree. It's so cool to see Main Street and the castle with nobody around. Our guide timed it perfectly so that we walked through the castle and got on Peter Pan while the park was closed, but when we got off Peter Pan the park was open and teeming with activity. It was really cool.

We took the early tour because it included lunch instead of dinner. We had other dinner plans.

What?!? The Dream Suite? I am disappointed for so many here who have not yet had a chance to see Walt's apartment. I was able to go and see it when they still offered it. If you can now see the Dream Suite (the one above PotC?) I am really excited about it, that is something that is on my bucket list! :) Is it just one room you get to stand in, or can you see the entire suite?

We did the tour last August. At that time it did include Walt's apartment but not Club 33 (and not the Dream Suite). At one point it had both. I would definitely call and ask before you spend the $ just so there aren't any surprises! Walt's apartment was amazing.

For us, in addition to walking, we rode Peter Pan (front of the line), the train, and finished with Lincoln. The guide's sound system was great -- we could hear her from a fair distance away, so we could spread out and look at things while she talked rather than having to squish together to try to hear. It was also really cool how they put Walt's voice on the sound system as we walked through some of the park -- a few speeches I had heard but some I hadn't. We also had a good lunch (we pre-ordered in the morning).

My only complaint was that our tour guide was a little too rehearsed -- she didn't have lots of background knowledge and rarely went off the script. As a Disney nerd I was hoping for someone with some depth of info. For example - there was a picture of Roy in the apartment and one of the people on the tour asked if it was Roy O. or Roy E. No one knew, so I answered. (Yes I'm that nerdy - I just remember the O is for Older (he's the brother :) ). I could have just gotten a newbie, but I guess I set my proverbial expectations too high.

For my husband and myself with an AP discount, it was worth doing once for sure. I probably won't do it again unless it changes somehow.

I believe it was $109 each (lunch included) but we got a 20% discount with my annual pass.

I did it last year. I did the afternoon one because the park gets busier in the afternoon and you can do as much anyhow and the tour takes 3 hours. The afternoon worked out best for me, I rode a ton of rides in the morning and took the tour. I did get 15% off using my Disney Visa which helped. It's kind of expensive but you do get a beautiful pin and lunch. Seeing Walt's apartment was well worth the price. I don't know if you can do that right now?
