Walk in at Le Cellier?

We scored a walk up about 3 years ago (October) - it was a very late lunch - I think around 2.30pm - never hurts to try but an ADR is definitely advisable for this one.

About three years ago we had an ADR. And the people in front of us at the podium did not. They were seated. And I checked in. I commented to the hostess that the folks in front of us were lucky. She said it was the first walk up they had been able to seat for over a week, and that was the only one they'd be able to seat that evening - unless something happened - like it started raining hard.

This is one of the hardest reservation to get - we did see a walkup during free dining a couple of years ago - the only ones we've ever seen.

Just last month while DH and I were waiting for our table about 6 or 7 different people tried to walk up in about 10 minutes and were all turned away. One guy even got very mad and said that they should keep some tables open just for walk-ins

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I never never never never never never will understand why anyone would think it woul be a good idea for a Disney restaurant to hold tables for walk-ins only. It would be the dumbest thing business wise they could do. Any restaurant would rather have a guarenteed 100% occupancy than a guarenteed 80% occupancy with 20% uncertain.

It sucks if you didn't plan well, but it's not Disney's fault.

I would have laughed at that guy- people who think the above, are just ridiculous to me.

OP, if you really wish to eat at Le Cellier, you will need to grab a ressie. You might get a walk-in seating but you may also be struck by lightning, it's extremely rare. I think you may have a better chance to walk up to Chef Mickey's at 9AM than at Le Cellier at 5PM.

Good luck, you'll need it, we all know how hard it is to get one of these ressies. pixiedust:

I have gotten in at lunch without a reservation by arriving at 11:10 am. They don't open for lunch until 11:30, and we were the first walk up taken (table of 5, late June 2007) and a couple more walk ups were taken and they took no more after about 11:25. After that near miss I made ADR's for my June 2008 trip. I have gotten a table several times using that method though, but I have only had lunch there.

I think you can get a walk up on a Tuesday in early January at 9:45pm(that's a lunch reservation);) They will have yesterday's pretzel bread with a dip made from the scrapings of the cheese soup.:)

As most have said, try for an ADR, and if you are taking a chance on a walk-up, please be sure you have Plan B in place.:earsboy:

The hostess let us in one night, and then got her butt chewed because she did. Was told not to let anymore walkins in, lol.

In September we were absolutely reservationless (except) Crystal Palace.. So we were in Epcot and we walked over to le Cellier and I stopped to feed a bunny on the lawn and the people who passed us got a walk up for two......we should of been inside but I wanted to pat that dang bunny......yes it is possible but dont expect it....
Once in a blue moon is the word.

Hope you have fun

LeCellier was once a walk-in with no issue restaurant, but as Disney kept on pushing their dining plans and guest converted their money to Disney tickets under these plans this place became very busy, as it is a one ticket - steak table service option. ADRs are highly recommend to dine at LeCellier and the reason relates more to the DDP, rather it being one of the top places to dine at Disney.

I am a pro at walk ins and this is not a place I have had success at in years. I have walked into everyplace else at World Showcase (but the Princess meal ... haven't even THOUGHT about trying that. Also have not done Germany in a LONG time, but just don't really like it!)

(NOTE: If you go during a hurricane you might get lucky. Seriously I went to Epcot a few years ago when it didn't open until afternoon due to a Hurricane and I think I could have walked into anyplace. It was pretty empty, of course it was pretty wet too LOL!)

We dined there for lunch the week of Thanksgiving and while waiting to be seated I can't tell you how many walk-ins were turned away!

What surprised me more than people trying to get a walk-in reservation, were the party sizes! :scared1: Party of 9, party of 12 and even one party of 17! I actually felt sorry for them for not knowing they needed an ADR. :sad2:

In 2005 while we were waiting for our ressies a couple came up and asked if they could get a table and the hostess said they were booked up all the way past August and this was the 1st of May.

We got a walk up for dinner in July this past summer. We went right at the beginning of dinner and we were a party of two. You never know, it could happen!!:cool1:

We were there for lunch last week and while we waited for our table they took 2 or 3 walk ups and they sat them right away. One of them was even seated before we were and we had ressies!

SO everyone......anything is possible in the House of the Mouse......if you are without any reservations and are going to end up at a CS in Epcot.......then pass by the place and give it a try....the couple that got the walk up in front of us the time was at the opening of the dinner hour.....four thirty I believe.....

I've tried walking in several times over the last 5 or 6 years and had no luck. Unless your trying to eat at an odd time, you will most likely need a reservation.
