Walk from OKW

Never walked it, boats are every 20 to 30 minutes.

We walked it. It was a good walk. I don't remember how much time it took. The only thing we felt uncomfortable with is that you are walking the golf course. We were worried about getting hit by a stray golf ball. I would not choose to walk again for that reason.

Can you walk from OKW to Disney Spring?
How often do boats run?

You can see maybe four of the tee boxes on the front nine. The walkway to Disney Springs is separate from the golf cart paths. You will have no concerns of being hit by a golf ball. You would only be in harms way if you mistakenly get on the cart path designated for the golf carts. All paths are properly marked. Fore

OKW has been my home resort since the early 90's and I have never nor would I recommend walking to Disney Springs from there when there is a lovely boat ride for that distance. Or a bus. It is a good distance from OKW to DS.

I love the walk between OKW and Disney Springs...it is, as I recall from previous posts, 9/10 of a mile ... the path brings you to West Side, near Cirque...i takes me just about 15 minutes if I'm "exercise walking" and closer to 20 if I'm just strolling along...It's true it's not lit and so it's officially closed after dark (or before dawn)...in all the times I've taken this walk (too many to count over the course of 10 years) I've never seen a golf ball--in air or on the ground; in fact, if you're on the "right" path (it's marked as the path to SSR), you have to look to see the golf course...it's screened by shrubbery on one side (the canal is on the other side)...personally I much prefer it to the bus or the boat (the boat ride is nice if you're up for a boat ride; not the most efficient form of transportation, tho)...

It's a lovely walk, but I would only do it in cooler weather. Did it first time during a February visit which was perfect. Tried it again during a much warmer October visit and the kids were very kranky by the end! Didn't even consider it an option during our last August visit and always got the boat. In fact coming back to the resort one day, the boat captain pointed out the "mad person" (his words) jogging along the path!

My husband walked it at night once because he wanted the exercise after dinner. Got very lost. He said he wouldn't do it again even in light.

We've done it a few times and as previous posters have said it's an enjoyable walk by day.

I have ran it a few times and it's actually a nice path that not many people know about. All of the times I have ran it I am the only one
except golfers, but it is usually before 8:00 AM.

Depending where you are located at OKW it's definitely 1 mile if you take it to the first building on the West side.

We take that path over to SSR when staying at OKW when we go out running in the morning. It's lovely and SSR has better paths to run on. We've run all the way to the path to Disney springs as well. It would be a nice walk if you want some exercise on a cooler day.

I'm just the opposite. Many stays since the 90's at our home resort of OKW. It's a very nice walk and also a great trail to run on. We've done it many times and it takes about 25 minutes to walk.
