Anyone know if it's faster to walk down Disneyland Drive from the Grand Californian to the Sheraton Anaheim or walk through Downtown Disney and out to the entrance of DL?

I've looked at maps online, but can't quite picture which would be the easier/faster way.

Thanks!

It's been YEARS since I've stayed there if it's the one I'm thinking of (kind of Tudor style cottage-y???) but if that is the one it is QUITE hike by foot. I personally would not walk it. We just stayed last week at katella and west (Disneyland dr) and it took us about 10 mins going a decent clip to get to the GC. And I'm a very fit/active person. Lol. Are you dead set on walking???

It is the Tudor/Castle Cottage one at 900 Disneyland Blvd. I have a conference to attend at the Sheraton, but am using DVC pts to stay at the Grand Californian.

I looked it up on Google Maps and from the Grand at 1600 South Disneyland Blvd to the Sheraton at 900 South Disneyland Blvd, Google said it would take about 17 minutes to walk on Disneyland Blvd. Just wondering if it would be faster to cut through DTD.

I'm quite fit and in good condition and I won't have a rental car. Don't really want to pay for a taxi and I did see a bus that went there for $2. Maybe I'll do that instead.

We stay often at the Sheraton Anaheim (have another stay coming up next month!) and walk to the parks every time (rarely take the private shuttle, although the shuttle is convenient and does run on time). The walk is no problem for us (no health problems or strollers) and takes about 15-20 minutes from the hotel to bag check (in front of La Brea Bakery). We go south on Disneyland Dr., take the path to DtD (on your left, before the overpass), and enter DtD by WOD. Otherwise, if you miss the path, continue south on Disneyland Dr. until you reach the GCH and cut through the lobby to DtD. That option will take a little longer, I think. We walk both to and from the parks and have not had any problems. If you choose to take the tram, you can cross Disneyland Dr. at Magic Way, take the path to M&F, and board the tram there.

When we stay there we usually take the shuttle but sometimes we walk. When we do, we walk east on Ball then south on Harbor. Its 1.1 miles per google maps and it takes us about 25 minutes walking at a leisurely pace. Its sidewalk all the way but I could see how some people don't like to walk over a busy freeway.
