How far is the walk from BWV to MGM. It can be hard loading and unloading 3 kids froma stroller so I was wondering if this would be a better choice thanks

Depending on how fast you walk it's between 15 and 20 minutes. Just turn left at the end of the Boardwalk (don't cross the bridge to the Swan/Dolphin) and follow the walkway that goes along the same side of the canal as the BWV. You'll cross under the road and then come up where the bus drop off at MGM is. I think more times than not it's faster than the boats. Unless your dead tired, or opposed to walking, we prefer the walk to the boat ride.

One nice thing about the boats is that there is no need to unload children from their strollers.

We use the boats only when it is storming or we see a boat just arriving as we leave. The walk is quite pleasant and much faster than the boats if you must wait.

We just arrived back this morning and we always walked to both MGM and Epcot and then took the boat back. We were anxious to get there and did not want to wait for a boat!!! We always beat the boat by quite a bit. The walk to MGM was quite a pleasant and did not take us long at all. On the way back there always seemed to be a boat at the dock and with a stroller you just push right on, no folding needed! :)

It's not a bad walk, in the morning. By the end of the day it's nice to take the boat back. It does take awhile to wait for the boats sometimes, but with children it's worth it!

Caskbill has prepared some great reports about pathways at WDW. Here is a link to his report about MGM to BWV.

We've walked it many times and enjoy the experience. It is well lit and the walkway itself is well maintained.

Enjoy!

Depending on where your room is, it may be closer to walk to MGM if you are on that end of the resort than to walk to the boat dock!!!!

I wouldn't count on that, I have seen the crew require kids out of the strollers. Makes good water safety sense, strollers don't float.

First of all, I'll admit to being a fast walker!I'm always trying to get the family to pick up the pace! With that in mind, I timed our walk from MGM to the BWV at 12 minutes. We usually prefer the walk, unless it's raining or 95 degrees under the midday sun!
