With an AP, you can enter Epcot via the International Gateway, walk through to the front entrance, exit and take the monorail to your destination. Doing this with a park hopper pass would use up a day that might possibly be used for a park visit on another day, but using an AP this way doesn't reduce the number of days you have left - you can come and go all day as you please among the parks, knowing that you still have every day of the year left on your AP. Make sense????yitbos96bb said:Ok, I'll Bite. What possible advantage does having an AP give one for reaching the Monorail from the BC? From my understanding, the vast majority of guests have park hopper passes. While APs are good, I just fail to see the relevance with this topic. But please, let us know as I am quite curious.

Many DVC members buy APs/PAPs - especially now that DVC members get such a good discount on them.yitbos96bb said:Yeah, but most people staying on property buy park hoppers with enough days to go everyday of visiting, especially with the MYW tickets since staying 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 days is such a negligible expense. (I think 3 dollar more for each day.) I just think the statement really had no relevance on the thread as a whole. Just my opinion.
Actually, since MYW a lot of folks are buying the non-hopper tix and saving the $28 per ticket. Some of these ppl are ending up getting turned away when they try to go to Epcot for dinner, or try to cut thru Epcot on their way somewhere else. Most fo the uninitiated will likely think they are not going to park-hop, so why pay the extra money. And hey, $28 to cut thru Epcot on your way to MK is one expensive not-so-short-cut.yitbos96bb said:Yeah, but most people staying on property buy park hoppers with enough days to go everyday of visiting, especially with the MYW tickets since staying 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 days is such a negligible expense. I love having an AP so I don't have to think about park admissions at all. Plus, since we take more than one WDW trip per year, it makes good financial sense for us as well. Otherwise, park-hoppers would be a must for us.

No big deal, the person making the statement should have communicated a little more clearly the intention of the statement. If she had said, I like having an AP because it assures me I will be able to cut through Epcot to get to the monorail, then I wouldn't have thought twice.
Hope that makes sense.
I think the longest MYW you can buy is the 10 day one. Sure there are tix for UK and European visitors that will get you in for up to 14 days, but I am not sure if we North Americans can buy them and use them and still be within the rules. For a DVC member, the difference between a 10 day MYW park-hopping ticket (with expiration) and the AP is all of $66, which would make buying one just for the Epcot cut-thru an expensive one; on the other hand, if there is a chance you will both visit parks on the 12 days, then perhaps two APs would be your best bet. $66 will get you a decent lunch or dinner using your DDE, but for the hassle reduction advantage, it may be worth using that for an AP after all.mrcrete said:I was'nt trying to open up a can of worms. Since we're already side tracked, maybe someone could answer a ?. We'll be there twelve days. We already have quite a few days left over but am planning on getting the 10 day hopper that expires for two of us and one ap to get the dde. Finally to the ?.
I know at the gate you must ask for the 10 day, it's not listed. Can you get a 12 day ticketif I request one?
