Walk back to Swan after Fantasmic?

Is the walkway between the Swan and MGM lit? We are planning to take the boat from the Swan over to MGM next Friday. However, I remember the crush of people leaving Fantasmic after it was over all too well. I thought we might walk back to the Swan instead of fighting to get to the boat. Any suggestions?

...that it is, as you will be walking past Boarkwalk Inn and I recall it being fairly well-lit. However, you may want to post your query on the "New Improved Swan/Dolphin FAQ..." and ask dreamflight99 - she is the "High Priestess" of S/D knowledge!!

I can't imagine that it won't be lit. The walk is a great option if you wish to avoid crowded transportation. Walking is the only way we go from BWV at a busy time.

I remember the walkway being lit (I went on the boat though). DD & I just wandered slowly out - meandering in the shops that were still open and it was very empty when we arrived at boat launch.

The walkway is definately lit. I walked back to BWI after Fantasmic just this past August - it's a lovely walk

It's a nice walk along the river - 15 minutes or so as I recall. I would highly recommend it, although the boats are nice as well.

It is not a bad walk. It takes about 15 minutes, and I remember it being lit. You do walk past Boardwalk.

How would we get to the walkway after Fantasmic? Is the it near the boat dock?

I'm looking at my Passporter map at it looks like we'll have to go back out to Sunset Blvd, down Hollywood Blvd and out to the main gate. However, I kind of remember that Fantasmic had a back exit that let out directly to the main gate. Can anyone confirm this? (My memory isn't what it used to be )

The walkway runs along the river that the boat travels back to the Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, etc. As I remember it, you come out of the main entrance at MGM (I don't remember another exit by Fantasmic) walking toward the boat dock, then just past where the big inflated Stitch sits (or at least where he sat this summer) turn right on to the sidewalk that runs along the parking lot. The walking path will then split off to the left of the sidewalk and take you down by the river. Sorry if this is confusing - it's much easier to find than it sounds.

The Fantasmic exit takes you directly to the main gate area--you do not go back on Sunset Blvd. Then just go down in the general direction of the boat dock, but stay to the right side of the water to the path--it goes to BW, then you will go across the bridge to the Swan.

IT IS A NICE QUIET WALK BACK PAST THE BWV'S JUST REMEMBER TO KEEP THE WATERWAY ON YOUR LEFT SIDE AS YOU WALK BACK.

Enjoy the walk. Use it as time to just stroll take it all in. I enjoyed the approaching view of the Swan and Dolphin all lit at night. They are beautiful.

Another time we walked my 13 year old wanted to beat the boat make a game of it....he challenged us. We had a head start as the boat was going into the MGM for drop off and still had to reload. We walked very fast and we got back to the the Swan same time as the boat.
