Anyone get the nine cent specials at Wal-Greens this week? They have a 10 pack of pencils, a 10 pack of Paper Mate pens, 2 pocket folders, and a 6 pack of hi-liters (I think Bic brand) for nine cents.
I went to Walgreens to get them and they had everything but the hi-liters. CVS had them and took the Walgreens coupon. Regular price was $6.99! Can't beat that deal. I think I am going to go back to Walgreens and buy some more before the week is over. We are always running out of pencils during the school year!

For real?! Wow, that's harsh! I couldn't disagree with you more. The people in charge should be estimating demand much better than they do so they have the stock available. Since Walgreens....at least the one I visit...is notorious for not having stock, I'm thinking it's a purposeful move on their part to get you in the door and possibly buy items you might not have otherwise purchased there. I went to Walgreen's during the first 5 cent/9 cent type sale a few weeks ago right around lunch time and the shelves were already bare with no more stock in the back. They were making substitutes with other similar items and I got the last of the substituted highlighters. This was just hours in to the first day of the sale...not mid week! Same thing last week.....went Sunday and, sure enough, just as I expected, no sale items to be found. This time it was mid morning. You'd think they'd get tired of doling out rain checks and figure out how to get enough stock for sale items in the store! Oh, wait....they won't tire of that because it means people will have to return another time for their raincheck items and probably end up making more purchases while they're there.
