Walgreen's has put a unique twist on the traditional giving tree idea. Each store has a tree with the names and requests of needy individuals on it, but instead of these people being children, they are senior citizens from area nursing facilities. The requests are so simple...many just want personal hygiene products or blankets; one lady wanted paper and stamps to write to people. Most of their requests can be met with $10. Please consider stopping by and picking up a tag. Seniors really get forgotten...do something simple to make a big difference in their holidays.

Thanks! :hippie:

do you have more information? What dates will this be going on? do you just buy the stuff and give it to the walgreens cashier or what do you do with it.

Any info is appreciated!

I looked on their website and could not find anything.

Now that is something I think I can get on board with. I'll head over to Walgreens today.

I do not have current info, but I can post it tonight after I get my tags. Last year they had a specific date that tags and gifts had to be returned by. You could buy your gifts from anywhere, not just from Walgreens. They asked that the gifts not be wrapped and the tag be attached to the items. We turned them into the manager for the store. The return date was a week or so before Christmas.

Several tags this year requested Snuggies. I found some on sale on Black Friday. Because the senior's name is on the tag, a friend is going to use her sewing machine to put the recipient's name on their blanket. I thought that would be a great personal touch!
