Walgreens deals....what are YOU buying this week?

They are valid, mine was just denied for some crazy reason. In my state, we can submit online and I suspect that is the problem, something is wrong in their system and it isn't recognizing the items. I just called again, I don't think their customer service is set up to deal with online submissions because it's such a small group (Alabama Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Tennessee and Wisconsin)

If you mail in your rebate, it will go through without a problem, as a real person visually looks at the receipt you send in.

I am now extremely hesitant to try mine online! If anyone else does theirs online can they post how it goes?

I don't usually do walgreens much anymore. There are only 2 in the area and neither are convenient, atleast 20-30 minutes away, but I was driving by today. I did get some good deals. I wish I would have thought to use a manufacturers with the coupons out of the book, would have saved me another $4! I can't complain much since I think I did okay, although I aslo forgot to give them my $5 off $20 coupon!!!!

I posted this on hotcouponworld too ...

Here is what I did this morning. Its not the greatest deal, but it was all items I needed and was going to go out and buy this weekend anyway.

Scott toilet paper 12 pack 7.00
Scott toilet paper 12 pack 7.00
Walgreens Paper towel 3 pack 2.50
Walgreens Paper towel 3 pack 2.50
Kleenex 1.29
Kleenex 1.29
-$5/$20
-.75/2 Kleenex catalina
-$1 Scott coupon
-$1 coupon ????
-.80 Kleenex Walgreens coupon
-$10 catalina from Aveeno deal
Subtotal 3.03
Tax 1.10
Total 4.13

Plus I get $2 back for the Scott rebate.

We were out of paper towels and low on TP, so I'm happy with this.

Now I have to figure out how to best use my other $10 Aveeno catalina. I'm thinking of buying the monthly FAR since I haven't done them yet (except Toothpaste).

Maggie

Maggie, aren't you using the $5 off $20 today? I'm on my way out the door now to use another!

I've done online before and it was smooth, I don't know what happened this time. I'm sure it's some glitch and probably won't happen again. Last month I didn't get an email confirmation for my $12.99 Garnier, but it was added to my rebate.

Yeah. The $5/$20 is included in the list above.

Good deal on Suave shampoo/conditioner this week!

Its Buy 6 get $6 RR. But its working if you buy 4!

Buy 4 bottles of Suave shampoo and get $6 RR. They are 2 / $3 and then BOGO 50% off.

Suave 1.79
Suave 1.21
Suave 1.50
Suave 1.50
-.75
-.61
=4.64 + tax

There are $1/2 coupons out there for Suave hair care products. You can also use any RR from previous deals.

The best thing about this is that the RR are ROLLING!! I used the $6 RR from my first deal to pay for my second deal (different store). I got the $6 back. But make sure you have a filler to "absorb" the extra $1.50 or so for each transaction. On my second transaction, I bought the Bic Advanced 3 4 pack razors that were $4.99 - $1 coupon from Easy Saver book - $3 manu coupon. My total was .30 for the 4 bottles of shampoo and the razors.

I did this today and yesterday and plan to go back tomorrow - I had a coupon for B1G1F Dove candy and I used that with the Easy Saver catalog coupon and my total after the 6.00 off, the B1G1F coupon and the 1.00 off coupon was 1.67! plus I got another 6.00 coupon back.

Really likely this deal.

I didn't even see it, my poor old eyes are failing.

If you aren't rolling RR, do you still need a filler? I still have a hard time understanding RR, I guess what I mean is that if your total is under $6, will a $6 RR still print?

My Easy Saver rebate got fixed. They said it was a new issue in online submission, but they manually go back over them and fix them all the ones that fail now.

No. If you are not rolling, you will not need a filler. Buying the 4 is all that you need to get the RR. But if you want to buy 4 more using the $6 catalina RR, you will need to make sure your total is over $6.

Maggie

Thanks, I am going to go check this out. I need shampoo conditioner like I need toothpaste though :rotfl2:

I bought 4 Suave today and got a $6 RR. They fixed being able to roll the RR though. My 7 year old wanted the new 3-in-1 for kids, so I broke down and splurged on 2 of those ($3.49 and $1.75).

Got my pink post card for the Easy Saver today too, I now see what the issue was, it says I'm "over rebate limit, incorrect quantity purchased" on SoyJoy. So, if you buy more than one of the free-after-rebate item and submit online, the system seems to think your entire receipt is invalid. I knew I was only going to get the rebate for one SoyJoy.

If you really like the Soy Joy, I have about 50 of them from CVS. I ate a few but they just aren't my thing!

I have a bunch of $10 RR from the Aveeno deal so I might go and pick up some of the Suave.

I can't stand them, I sent the CVS ones for snack in 1st grade and none of the kids would eat them. My 11 year old will choke one down every now and then.

I was just being weird when I bought 3, I had a B2G1 coupon and felt compelled to use it. Walgreens had strawberry and somehow I thought my kids might be more tempted to try that flavor, but they are still sitting in the snack jar :rotfl:

I read last night about why the Suave deal is working for buying 4 instead of 6. Someone said that when the system removed the 50% off on each second bottle, it thinks that it's another purchase. They posted that it works on any of the items in that group that is B1G50%. Some people bought 3 shampoos and one conditioner and it didn't work, so it seems you have to buy equal numbers of the same item (such as 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners or 4 of all the same).

Go hereWalgreens deals 4/20-4/26 to see next weeks deals. Also on the SD (the drugstore board) website is a Walgreens FAQ and they even have ads and deals out for the week of 4/27. I am slowly getting hte hang of the Walgreens.
Got the Suave RR this week and am doing lots of rebates (Fructis shampoo is 3/$10 but with $5 MIR, so 3/$5 - any coupons.) Not free but not a bad deal either. DD--and her teammates--go thru lots of shampoo after swim practices! Also did all the Free after Rebate items. Whaat I don't want I will donate. Yeah, it's money out of my pocket for now, but I figure why not? I'll take the GC so I can get the rebate value +10%.:thumbsup2

The Aveeno deal is back this week. All Aveeno is 20% off. If you buy 4, you get back a $10 RR.

This is what I did:

$2.63 small tube Aveeno 2.5 oz.
$2.63 small tube Aveeno 2.5 oz.
$2.63 small tube Aveeno 2.5 oz.
$2.63 small tube Aveeno 2.5 oz.
-$1 coupon
-$1 coupon
-$1 coupon
-$1 coupon
=$6.52
And you get back $10 RR.

Even if you don't have the coupons, it is only $10.52 and get back $10 RR. Also, ask your Walgreens beauty advisor for Aveeno coupons. In some stores they are giving away $1 coupons.

I used the $6 RR from Suave last week. So out of pocket .52 plus tax. (You don't need a filler IF they scan your RR first. If they do coupons first, you will need a small filler because you will have 5 coupons.)

Another deal is the Palmolive deal. This week there is a 7 day coupon for Palmolive that is 2/$1.89. This counts for the Colgate-Palmolive rebate deal in the monthly rebate book. It is Buy $20, Get $10 back. I think it is deal number #13, but I don't have the book in front of me right now.

At my store they rang up $1.99 each.

$1.99 x 12 = $23.88
-$3 coupons (12 x .25) I ordered some from coupon clipping site
-$12.54 coupon from Walgreens weekly add (it says 2/$1.89)
=$8.34 plus tax
And you get back $10 from the montly rebate. They count the BEFORE coupon price ($23.88), so you are over the $20 for the rebate. But you only really spent $8.34.

I threw in the Colgate 360 toothbrush from the monthly rebate too to get me over the $10 and then I used the $10 RR from the Aveeno deal above. So I'll get back $10+ $3.99 for the toothbrush. (There are .75 off Colgate manual toothbrush coupons out there too.)

Even if you subtract the .50 I spent on the Palmolive coupons (.05 x 10), I still come out ahead AND I got all the Palmolive!!

Maggie

Thanks for the heads up on the palmolive. I will look for the coupons. Got a $6 RR from last week to use. so that'll help. Maybe I'll do Aveeno again, too. When I did it last time I did some Aveeno and some Neutragena (that I always use anyway) for $11 with coupons for all and the RR didn't print so they gave me a rain check for $10. I was scared it wouldn't work, but it did--used it last week.

Went to walgreens and bought the Aveeno, I had to get 2 baby wash since they only had 2 of the small lotion tubes. I had 2 of the 2/1.50 off coupons from the newspaper a few weeks ago. I tried to use the $6 RR from the suave last week and the machine would not take it. The manager, who was very helpful, finally asked if I minded paying and then he wold just give me 6 bucks cash after. So, I paid about $10 and got back $6 in cash, and a 10 RR for next time. I was pretty happy with this!
:cool1:

It probably didn't take the RR because you had 4 items and used coupons on 4 items (2 of the $1.50 off 2). If you had thrown in a small filler, like a candy bar, it would have printed. You can't have more Manu. coupons than items (and the RR is considered a Manu. coupon). ALthough if you give the RR FIRST before the coupons, you don't need a filler.

Maggie

I gave the original cashier my 3 coupons with the RR on top but he used the manufacturer's ones first. I thought I'd be okay with four items and 3 coupons but I think I see what you said went wrong. I had thought maybe the problem was no single item cost $6, the most expensive item was about $4. I will have to be more careful in handing over the coupons next time! ;)

I know. I did the same thing yesterday with my Aveeno deal. I put the 4 Aveenos on the counter. She scanned them. Then I placed the RR on the counter (no other coupons). She asked if I had more coupons and I said yes and handed her the others. So she scanned the coupons first and THEN the RR. So of course it beeped and I had to throw in a .79 candy bar!! But my dad was glad when I brought that home for him. His face lit up so it was worth it (even though I probably could have found a cheaper filler!).

I should have just asked her to scan the RR first, but I am a chicken to make confrontations.

Maggie

Yeah, I know what you mean about no confrontation. The only reason I asked about the manager coming over to help was b/c he was 5 ft away and he had been smiling at my 2 yo and her antics.

My husband loves the fillers I bring home the best - the most recent was tictacs. I have the worst time finding anything cheap under pressure. I even had to ask the cashier where the candy was last week since all my suave rang up cheaper than I thought so I was under for the total.

Thanks for your help. There is always a bit of learning with a new store.

I had a creepy cashier try to keep my $10 RR for buying Aveeno today. Sheesh, you'd think that if I was buying 4 Aveeno, my main point was to get the RR. Her reasoning for setting it to the side of the catalina was that most people don't want the "coupons." I wonder how many a day she gets away with. When my son was working at a grocery store, they had to log and shred all the catalinas that weren't taken (just coupons, nothing exciting) and would've been fired had they taken one.

I went all over asking at the cosmetic counters if they have Aveeno coupons, everyone was really helpful looking for them, but none found. They let me look at everything they had and the only good ones were the Nivea ones that I can also get at CVS.

Maggie, I really screwed up on the Colgate, I counted in my head everything after coupons and when I got home I realized I bought nearly double. I did the toothpaste with the free toothbrush (like I needed that!) and Suavitel and Speedstick (banging head) and only 2 Palmolive and some Softsoap. I wish I'd read your post and done all Palmolive, even though I didn't have the coupons. The toothpaste/toothbrush deal would also work great for anyone who hasn't done this because they ring up as $2.99 and that amount counts for the rebate (Walgreens coupon takes them down to $1.99 and mfg. takes off another 75 cents).

I sure love this Aveeno deal, now I have 2 $10 RR. I had a third, but blew it on those $2 boxes of freezer pops for my kids, they love them.
