Recently Walgreens opened up across the street from the CVS I frequent and while I know they have the monthly booklet, I have stayed away because the other store was just too far away for me to justify it. Now that they are across the street AND they offered a $25 gift card for every prescription I transferred, I have $100 in gift cards and looking to roll it to make more/keep it going.

I was able to get the Venus Embrace the last week of February so I could get the rebate on that one PLUS I got a $5 off my next purchase for buying a P&G product then too. So far in March I have purchased the Garnier, the toothpaste, and 1 other item I can't remember right now.

So what other great deals does Walgreens have going right now...what are y'all buying :goodvibes Lets share....

I did the buy 6 items for $20 and got $8 back, plus I had coupons for almost all the items, so I made out extremely well in that transaction, then I did the Ivory soap which was supposed to be free, but unfortunately I used my $4 from my other soap and shampoo and I didn't get the additional $4, but I figure it was still a very good deal.

We're buying a few months supply of soap.;) To use the deal over and over, you cannot buy the next order's soap with the coupon, you have the shell out another $4 for the soap, and you'll get another coupon. Since a gallon of milk is near $4, we'll use the $4 coupons rather quickly.

Having a good time with Walgreens this week!

Olay soap 2 bar packs 2/4.00- 2 @ 1.00 coupons=0.00 paid PLUS received $4 register rewards aka RR (did this 3 times with all coupons I had)

Herbal Essences shampoo/conditioner 6/20.00- 2 @ Buy2Get1Free coupons ($6.66 off)=13.33 for 6 bottles PLUS I used $5 RR from purchasing razors PLUS received $12 RR (did this twice, will do one more time today)

Gilette Fusion Phenom OR Venus Embrace razor $9.99-$4 RR from soap and/or HE - $4 manufacturer coupon= 1.99 PLUS $5 RR received

So in short, I've been rolling the razor RR into the HE shampoo. I've been rolling the soap OR HE RR into razors. Repeat!

For the non-rolled $4 RR, I've been purchasing Tampax Pearl tampons, 40ct box. I received $3 off Tampax Pearl catalina coupons last month when buying clearanced Playtax Sport tampons. The Pearls are on sale for $6.99 this week. For each 40ct box, I use one $4 RR and one $3 coupon.

At one store I found some clearanced tampons (the store is moving locations so lots of things are being marked-down) that I combined with sale Kleenex (2.00/2 200 ct boxes, coupon in ad) and used one $4 RR. That was fun.

I will have some $4 RR left for next week, which I will use for Easter candy, on sale PLUS mc PLUS March Easy Saver coupons.

I have some Zest $1/1 coupons that I might use for the 2/$4 get $4 RR promotion, if I can find the soap. I'll donate that soap to our church food/hba closet.

I did the buy 6 also - but I think you got back 12.00 --- at least I did! and it makes it even a better deal!

I am going to some other Walgreens today and hoping they have the soap - mine was out but I will pay out of pocket for it to get the extra register rewards. I read on another post that register rewards can be used to purchase gift cards (just not Walgreens ones) and I think I would like to do that with my rewards money.

Last year I purchased 2 of the $50 Rainforest Cafe giftcards with the RR I received in some great deals.

Right now I am sitting on a few from the deals last week and thinking about grabbing another restaurant gc - has anybody tried this? I know it says on there that you can't buy a walgreens giftcard but it doesn't say no to others.

The trick in the past was you had to have an item for each RR you were using - so if I grab 1 $25 restaurant giftcard, and 6 easter bags (6 for $1.00) I could use 6 RR toward this transaction and 2 bucks in cash without major bells and whistles going off.

Anybody try this?

You're right I did get $12.

I was wondering the same thing -- I know you have to have an item for each RR you use (regardless of the price) and someone else recently said they get the gift cards with the register receipts. I went and looked at our one Walgreens last night and was not that impressed with the gift card selection so might hit the other today.

I just rolled $61 of RR in to gcs yesterday. My order consisted of

12 Easter pencils (the cheapest thing I could find) - $3
1 Sunday paper - $1.50
1 Wonka egg for DS (he was with me  ) - $2.50
1 $10 TGI Friday's gc - $10
2 $25 Gap gcs - $50

Used $61 in RR (15 in total)

Total OOP $6.21

I just started looking at the Walgreens deals. The P&G and Viactiv deals made it a very good week for me to start there! I spent about $30 OOP and got tons of soap/body wash/shampoo/vitamins plus $70 in TGIF/Gap gcs :thumbsup2

Yes you can use them on other gift cards but not the Walgreens. As far as using multiple RR per transaction, YMMV. I have heard that some managers are claiming you can only use ONE RR coupon per transaction. I have had no trouble using multiple RR's, but you are correct in that you have to have the same number of items as coupons.

Tip: If you go to www.hotcouponworld.com they post previews of the weekly ads in their Walgreens forum! :thumbsup2:

This is what I'm buying this week:

Trident gum ~ bogo w/ in ad coupon plus bogo manf coupons = free

Russell Stover marshmallow eggs ~ 3/$1 after in -ad coupon plus buy 2 get 2 free manf coupon = .15 for 4

Aquafresh .99 after in-ad coupon plus $1 manf = free

Oust candle 4.99-2.00mir plus 2.00 insert = .99

Glade Fan 4.99-2.00mir plus 3.00 peelie = free

Glade Plugins scented Oil kit = 2 for 4.79 -(2) 2.00 IPs = .79 for 2

I'm rolling my remaining in RR into the FAR items plus milk for the week if it's still $2.89/gal.

I just bought the Viactiv vitamins (my favorite!) on clearance for $3.69 -$2 EasySaver coupon -$2 MF coupon = $0.31 overage each (I bought 4). I also got the Embrace to add to my March rebate (I hear you can do/try this) as well as some Listerine for a different MIR I have. :thumbsup2

I received a $5 catalina/RR for my next purchase - something I wasn't completely expecting, but was quite a nice bonus! :cool1:

I'll be going back for my big tub of Cetaphil face cream $7.99 -$1MF coupon and check out the potential clearance on Soy Joy (yet another item I truly like!) since I have so many coupons.

I love CVSing but it usually takes a pretty good monthly rebate to get me to Walgreen's. That might be changing! :lmao:

I'm having a hard time getting into Walgreens deals. They hardly seem worth the effort after all the effort I'm putting into CVS deals. I did get some of the free after MIR last month (Garnier Nutritioniste, toothpaste) and I just got some of the April free after MIRs yesterday (Jane blush, toothbrush, and MORE toothpaste). I sent in my MIR from March last week. When can I expect my gift card to arrive? Also, is it really worth trying to get deals on things that aren't free after MIR? I'm already getting a ton of deals at CVS, does anyone here do both?

I used a couple of my RR from the P&G deal last week to get the Aveeno lotions ($2.39 each). When you buy 4 you get $10 in RR. Only thing I really did this week.

I'm really not a big fan of Walgreen's especially now that you can only use 1 RR per order and you can not use them on ANY gift cards. (Just more reasons to shop at CVS.) Plus the fact that because they do not have a loyalty card you have to purchase all items at once. Makes it hard to deal any deal without speniding quite a bit OOP. I will only do a deal there now if it is really good or something I really need.

I find that Walgreens is best when you can get overage from using a Walgreens coupon (from the weekly ads or the monthly booklet). In March, Viactiv 50ct vitamins were on clearance for, I think, $3.50. There was a weekly coupon plus a monthly coupon (both Walgreens) that gave you $5 off per bottle. So 1.50 overage *per bottle*!! We have tons of Walgreens around here, so I hit as many as I could (sometimes finding 20 bottles at a time - $30 of overage to spend!) and bought a ton of stuff with the overage, including a lot of the monthly MIR stuff.

CVS has been frustrating me lately because we only have a few stores close by, and they've been sold out of a lot of stuff early in the sale cycle (like, by 10am Sunday). Plus, they cut back on the $/$$ coupons, so it is harder to make great deals. I'm slowly working down my ECBs (have about $150 total on 2 cards right now) and hoping that it picks up again!

This week at Walgreens I got the Reynolds foil (25c after weekly coupon + $1/2 mfr Q), did the Aveeno deal twice and did the Wrigleys gum deal. On the Wrigleys gum deal, you combine the weekly coupon (3/$2, I think) with the monthly coupon (99c off of 3) with the BOGO mfr coupons out there right now. Give the mfr coupons first. I got about $3 overage per 12 packs, I think. It would look something like this (from memory, I'm at work):

1.19 pack of gum
1.19 pack of gum
1.19 pack of gum
1.19 pack of gum
1.19 pack of gum
1.19 pack of gum

Equals 7.14

-1.19 bogo mfr Q
-1.19 bogo mfr Q
-1.19 bogo mfr Q

Equals 3.57

- .99 monthly WAG Q
- .99 monthly WAG Q

Equals 1.59

-1.57 (1.19 * 3 - 2 for the weekly coupon)
-1.57 "

Equals -1.55

Walgreens rebates are duds this month, IMO. March was much better!

I went this morning and got:

$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$1.59 Reynolds Wrap
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
$2.79 Aveeno Lotion 2.5 oz.
-$3.36 Walgreens coupon for Reynolds Wrap
-$1 manu. coupon for Reynolds Wrap
-$1.50 / 2 manu. Coupon for Aveeno
-$1 manu. coupon for Aveeno
-$1 manu. coupon for Aveeno
-$8 RR from P&G deal last week
-$2 RR from P&G deal last week
Subtotal -.34
8% sales tax 1.13
Total .79

And I got back $10 RR for the Aveeno. The Reynolds Wrap was 4 for $3 with the Walgreens coupon. Plus I had a $1/2 Reynolds Wrap coupon. I wish I had another, but oh well. It ended up being .50 each for the foil.
