Waiver for Edge for 10 year old

I've seen people talk about getting a waiver for a 10 year old to go to Edge if there is room. Do you just ask at Edge or is it a guest services thing. My DS is 10.5 and may prefer the free-form of Edge to the more structured/group oriented kids clubs right now. Thanks in advance!

You do it directly in edge with the counselors there, we have done it for our kids.

Is this still a thing In These Times? We sail on 3/11 and have a 10.5 year old. It's not so much that he would prefer Edge as he would prefer not to be with his little sister. And if he chooses Edge, is he locked in the whole time? I know this has been answered before, but what I could find was pre-pandemic.

Edge is come and go so there’s nothing locking him in. He can still go to the oceaneers club and lab too since he’s in that age limit also. Mine would go to the clubs based on what programs were happening. They especially loved Gaga ball so whenever it was happening that’s where they would be. You would have to have him scheduled for time in the oceaneers where as there’s no reservation needed for edge.

You go to edge to fill out the waiver. They also had the daily schedule written on the whiteboard there which I found helpful for planning when they would want to go.

You will need to go with your son to Edge to inquire whether they will allow him in. The counselors will make the call, based on the number of tweens onboard and possibly on an assessment of his maturity.

When I inquired about my not quite 11 year old daughter attending Edge, the staff verified that I had given permission for her to leave the Oceaneer Lab on her own.
