How long are the typical waits for Joy, Sadness, and Baymax autographs?

From what I've experienced, they're usually in the 45-60 minute range, sometimes longer for Joy and Sadness. Even tonight during late night EMH, Joy and Sadness were still 45 minutes.

Yea joy and sadness seem to be a consistent 45-60 min wait unless you go there first thing.

I believe Baymax is usually about the same, maybe even a little less.

What are they if you head there immediately?

We went right at opening and saw Joy and Sadness in less than 10 minutes.
They are so cute....and funny!

Last trip we hit Epcot at RD for EMH and did Soarin' and Living with the Land in that first hour. We got to Joy/Sadness just after they opened at 9 and waited about 30 minutes. The thing that was strange when we did it was that the line visibly wasn't that long and the CM manning the line was telling people it was at least an hour or more wait. I'm not sure if she was a bad judge of how long it really was or if she was trying to discourage people from getting into it.

We waited about 25 minutes for Baymax. This was around 2 PM. Joy/Sadness had a wait of 60 mins (per the CM), so we skipped it.

45 minutes for us with J&S back during the week after Thanksgiving. I heard the Baymax line was around 20. The CMs were letting folks into Epcot when we got in the tapstile line at 8:40am, so there was a big crowd already in the park before RD. It also didn't help that we spent 10 minutes in line because a 9 person group in front of us had ticket problems and the CM didn't move them out of the way!

I would see J&S at RD, but I would make sure I got through security around 8:15-8:20am.

They do this to set worst expectation. It is not meant to discourage people from getting in line, but really to have the guest be prepared. If the line is 40 minutes and something happens to delay it (Sadness needs a longer potty break, group of 8 wants separate photos, etc), then the guest has a cushion in the event they have a Fastpass elsewhere or a dining reservation.

Telling a guest it is 40 minutes when it is 40 minutes and then having a delay that causes that same guest to miss something elsewhere results in complaints at guest relations and emails to Disney, which they get thousands of daily. This is just one way to attempt to minimize that. ;)

This time was different than just setting the expectation. This CM was being almost nasty about it. It was very strange - hard to explain her tone. All of us in line were commenting on how she seemed almost annoyed that we went ahead and got in line when she told us it was such a long wait.

I have experienced that while entering character lines as well. Mostly for Star Wars. I do not understand why they seem upset. Strange indeed.
