waitlists? How often do they come thru?

Hi,
We booked a last minute trip for August, 17th - 24th. They only place available for a 2 bdrm is SSR. Although I really do like SSR, I was hoping we would be able to stay at VWL because we haven't stayed there before. So, we are waitlisted for VWL. We have never waitlisted before. For those of you that have, how often does it come through?

I'm 1-1 on waitlists, we did the whole trip(not day by day) and got got VWL in for early May. Went on the waitlist in mid December and got the change in late January.

Now we just did it to change resorts, I already had a reservation in place, so it was more of the excitment to see it come through not on pins and needles if I would have somewhere to stay. I don't think I could do that .

I have done it several times - about 80% it has come through for me.

We could only book SSR also when we booked and our waitlist for OKW came through. With the new policy, I'd only waitlist where you want to stay since the first one that comes up will automatically reserve and the others are cancelled.

Waitlist 3 times now and it has always come thru.

I'd say that so far I'm 6.5 out of 7. The 0.5 was when I kept calling everyday morning, noon and night from the parks after we checked in to SSR in December 2005. We were able to switch half way through our stay to my now Home Resort the Wilderness Lodge Villas. And I must say that switching resorts in the middle of the trip was easy. I came home after that trip sold my OKW points and purchased a WLV resale to get the 11 month advantage. I think your odds are good.
