Waitlisting

Hey all!

A question about wait listing a stay:
Do you have to have the points available to waitlist? For example. From what I have booked I have used all my points that are available until my 2015 UY. I am staying in the beginning of december (during that sweet spot time!) at a value villa in AKV.(yay for little points). BUT if we wanted to change to BLT SV 1BR (i know, hard to get) or a lake view (easier), I would have to use all the points that are currently tied up in my AKV stay PLUS borrow from 2015.

Could I wait to cancel the AKV when the waitlist came through, or would I have to have all those points available (not tied up in any reservations) in order to wait list..I hope that made sense!! TIA

you would have to tell MS to cancel the AKV stay when/if the waitlist came through and authorize them to borrow pts to complete the new reservation.

they would then do a cancel and rebook if the waitlist opened up.

so when the 7month window opens, if what iwant isn't available , I would need to talk to MS about waitlisting, rather than doing it online myself?

Never mind! Ithink I figured out what you were directing me to. I did a fake wait list reservation and it gives you all those options ! I think I will definitely do that for our December trip, and I will be happy where ever we end up staying anyway! Thx!
