Waitlisting at DVC during Thanksgiving...

There is NO rooms available at ANY of the DVC resorts on Thursday, Nov.23rd. I have BWV ressies for 19-23 and waitlisted a room (any room) for Thurs. night. Of course I would prefer a BWV room in order not to deal with additional check ins. At this point I could book a non-dvc room but was informed that IF i had to cancel for any reason at all, those points would go into holding and could NOT be used at a DVC resort. So I am simply waitlisting at this point and hoping that when the time comes (if a DVC room doe not come availble) a non-dvc will be. Anyway, WHAT ARE MY CHANCE AT THIS POINT FOR A ROOM TO OPEN UP?????

I just called MS and Thanksgiving day had just come through for a 1BR at SSR. I'd only been waitlisted for 3 days. So, there is hope.

Can you book a room for cash with MS at BWV, or are the cash rooms used up? I have never booked a room for cash, so I'm not speaking with firsthand knowledge, but people have mentioned it often, and I've inquired about availablility at times.

there is hope - but the best chances are going to be in the last 31 days - you know before the points go into holding....

can you wait that long? - I would do what bobbie suggest - made a cash reservation - I am cheap so I would go with a value resort... then cancel if and when your DVC reservations comes through.

The cash price for a studio at bwv is $380.00 plus tax. Ummmmmmmmmm no thanks! Anyway, my fingers are crossed that anything will come available.

There may be a room available on Member's cash, 25% off for that night. I was really surprised to learn that even though rooms may not be available on points, they may be available for cash at the Member's discount. We're on the waitlist also for Nov. 23, but at HHI. There was no size villa available for that night. The CM at MS didn't tell me this might be an option, I learned it here, so I called back and this CM said "Oh, yes-which size would you like?" Apparently every size villa was available on discounted cash, but not with points. Oh, well-at least we're not sleeping in our car! Hope the waitlist comes through-for both of us!

You could always book the Swan or Dolphin next door. I was able to get an Internet rate of $199 plus tax or $184 through AAA. It could be used as a backup and cancelled five days in advance if your waitlist comes through.

We're actually staying at OKW over Thanksgiving - we decided we needed the extra room, as we have guests coming over for Chef Dreamfinder's lunch Thanksgiving day. We're waitlisted, too, for that particular day but have it reserved on cash, just in case. Arrrrgggh!

Keeping my fingers crossed, but MS said there were always a bunch of cancellations at the last minute. We'll see.

Waitlist came thru! I did not consider cash at $385.00 per night WITH NO MEMEBER CASH DISCOUNT. A discount was not being offered for some reason and I am a DVC member. The points go into holding if you cancel a non-dvc ressie NO MATTER WHEN YOU CANCEL. And you can ONLY use the holding points on a NON-dvc unit. I was informed of this by MS.

But wasn't this for BCV/BWV? Aren't those DVC Units? I'm so confused

I think he was referring to if the DVC room did not come through he would book a non-DVC resort as the last option. But now he won't have to do that since his waitlist for a DVC room came through.

Not going at Thanksgiving, so forgive my slight hijacking of the thread, but we are going Xmas/New Year's. New Year's Eve was sold out, so we have it as a cash ressie, but waitlisted it for points. My question is....on another thread, it was said that points rooms and cash rooms are 2 separate inventories. The CM at MS said if we got a call saying that the waitlist had come through, to tell them to switch it from a cash ressie to a point ressie....can you do that if they are from 2 different inventories? I am confused, too, LOL!
