Waitlisting and Points Question

I booked a last minute trip in September and originally ended up with 2 nights at OKW Hospitality House and 1 night Saratoga Springs. While booking this on the phone the CM waitlisted both categories of OKW type studios for that last night. She assured me that if the waitlist went through it would simply take the points from the Saratoga Springs room and apply them to the new room. This is essential as I have no more 2018 points and don't want points from 2019 grabbed. Well my waitlist went through yesterday and this was the case, bonus! But the room is the non-hospitality house room, so still a split stay. Now, after all that long windedness, if I waitlist OKW hospitality house category myself, and it comes through, will it automatically do the same thing and simply switch out the rooms and not touch the points, or did the cast member do something extra on her end to note that? Basically, will it automatically cancel the existing reservation and just use those same points for the new one? Thanks so much!

Unless it has disappeared in the latest incarnation of the member's website, the option to replace an existing reservation when a waitlist comes thru is included as a part of the waitlisting process.

When you set up the waitlist, there is an option to replace an existing reservation. (It's still there, Marionette. :) ). If you checked that option, it will show you your existing reservations and you can tell it which one you want to replace. If you're not sure what you did, call MS. (I don't think the waitlist manager is available right now - so you can't check for yourself AFAIK).

Perfect! Thank you! This was my assumption but I was afraid to try and mess something up. I've only done the wait list once last year, and then they went and changed the website interface just as I needed to do it again!
