waitlist?

Could someone please explain how waitlists work? We have an upcoming split stay but the resorts are not available in the order and for the dates I would like them. I have booked, but keep checking to see whats open each day. WHEN those rooms become available, would someone who's waitlisted get them first- so likely I would never see them? Or would they post, and a waiting family gets notified and has an option to take them? Is there a time delay during which they are available to anybody?

The first person on the waitlist would get it first. They automatically book the room for them - there's no in between time for anyone else to grab the reservation. You should waitlist what you want.

How does that work if I already have a reservation for the same day? I will need to switch other things around. I don't want to book again as that would mean borrowing points which I really don't need when I cancel what I have now....Thanks for responding

The waitlist would have to be set up to cancel the existing reservation if the waitlist comes through. Call MS, explain what you want and ask the CM to put the appropriate notes on your waitlist. Good luck!
