Waitlist.....wasn't much of a wait!

We had a Value 2BR at AKV booked for September 22 - 29th. Today, our 7 month window opened so I called to try and switch to a THV at SSR. Only five of the seven days were available so I decided to just keep the AKV reservation and waitlist the entire week for a THV.

Just under three hours later I received an email from member services stating that our waitlist came through!!! I was kind of shocked to see it come through so soon.

So, I was curious, has this happened to anyone else? Or even quicker than that?

Good for you! I've had waitlists come through quickly, but not that quickly!

I'm not surprised at it seems to have happened exactly at the 7 month mark. Someone else was probably an SSR owner that was able to switch to a non-home resort at the 7 month mark too. That created your opening.

I'm guessing that there is yet someone else who is probably happy because their waitlist for an AKV 2 bedroom value came through that day for them as well when you gave up your home reservation. It's all a big game of dominos where everyone gets to win when it works out.

I have a week at BLT 2 bedroom for the opening weekend of F&W, Saturday to Saturday. Tried right at the 7 month mark to move to BCV (we did this last year). They had all but 2 nights, Monday and Friday were not available. Decided to waitlist the entire week, figuring I have 6 months and BLT is still a great option. Hopefully I will have your good fortune.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I just thought that there might have already been people on a waitlist. You just never know. I am glad that someone will now get their waitlist fulfilled at an AKV value room.

Thanks. Hopefully your waitlist will come through. Last year we waitlisted a standard view studio at BWV during the first week of F & W.....right at the 7 month mark. It took a few months but eventually came through.

Either way you will be in Disney, so like you said, BLT is still a great place to stay and you will have a great time no matter where you stay.
