Waitlist vs. Cash Reservation

I have two reservations for May at BLT. We are now going down a day earlier than planned and (because of a lot of back and forth and indecision), I only added the day for one of the reservations. When I realized it and called Member Services, they told me they don't have the Friday night for our studio reservation except for on a cash basis ($349 + tax). I actually went with the wait list and am thinking that if it doesn't come through I'll consider the other option. Anyone have any ideas what I should do? If I wait awhile, will the cash basis room still be available? I cannot break up the group and I tried another resort for the entire trip and that's not an option either. Thoughts?

I would go ahead and book the room for cash because it may not be available later. You can still waitlist in the meantime. I think you have until 5 days prior to cancel the cash room without penalty.

I just had a similar thing happen to me. I am waitlised at VWL for three out of seven nights the first week of May. They have cash available - but, not points. So I waitlisted and reserved the three nights for cash. The cash is 380.00 per night. It gets on my nerves that they have cash availablilty but, not points. I know it has something to do with inventory - but, it still irritates me.
