Waitlist support: need pixie dust!

We snooze, we lose! We're at our 10-month window and already have to waitlist for Dec 1, 2, 3 for a studio at VWL.

I TOTALLY understand why, though, and am not resentful. But it would be AWESOME to get in!

Can people weigh in on their waitlist experiences? I know it's NOT a guarantee but I need to hear some "it'll work out"'s!

DH and I decided yesterday to give MVMCP and CP a go! Hope we can make it! Send us pixie dust!

I think you'll get in...here's our waitlist experience. We were booked this past December...I believe it was the 10th-13th. Booked at SSR which is our home because nothing else was available, but waitlisted for a studio at VWL. I was randomly calling one day and asked if anything had come through and they said they had a 1bd available at VWL...so we decided to use extra pts and take it...but kept on the waitlist for a studio. Then about a week after that MS called to say that a studio became available but we grew used to the idea of having more space that we decided to stay in the 1bd. I think you have lots of time for it to come through but I'll send pixie dust your way By the way, this was our first trip to Disney at the holidays and first time to VWL and it
was all incredible and magical!!

We waitlisted for BWV standard view (June) which people say is hard to book and we were called back the same day we waitisted!! Now, of course, I don't know as much about VWL, but I do know from reading these posts that lots and lots of waitlists come through! Hopefully it all works out for you.

By the way, don't miss CP!! It is fabulous!!

Thanks for the good thoughts, gang! Keep 'em coming! We decided we'll try somewhere else at the 7 mo window so maybe SOMETHING will work out. The MS rep said there was still lots of availability at BWV so maybe that could be a possibility!

BTW, would the website be updated b/f you'd get your snail mail confirmation?

I added a day to our family vacation in December so my SIL and BIL could travel early from the west coast. I had to wait list for a studio at VWL for December 5th but it came through in just a couple weeks.

By the way, you're at the 9 month window. I did the rest of our Dec 6-11 BWV reservations almost 2 months ago in early January day by day at the 11 month window.

Due to some family differences ( grrr )

We had to change our dates at the last minute this past Oct...it was July 15!!! and we had already got thru at the 7month window for 2 weeks at VWL in Oct which was a miracle in its own between mnsshp and Food & Wine...then we had to move it up to mid August!!!

I really thought we were doomed

With less then a month before our new travel dates, I was waitlisted for VWL for a *2 week* studio.....

Alas....pixie dust was in the air!

We were thru!!! Had a fantastic time

Never give up hope!... you just never know!!!

Up until December 2005 the 7 month waitlist for December at WLV worked great as I was an OKW DVC member. You are at the 9 month mark so you should be fine and yes I am sending a double dose of pixie dust. However, in December 2005, still an OKWester, at 7 months out I was waitlisted and switched my OKW 11 month ressie to SSR since it was available and I thought I'd try the new place. At first I was excited about SSR and as it grew closer, I was disappointed about the not being at WLV at Christmas. I called everyday 1 month out mornings and evenings still nothing. I checked in for what was to be 10 days at SSR and after calling every day, morning noon and night while I was at the parks got switched to WLV. I was never gonna go through that again, so I came home sold OKW and bought WLV. I just booked December 7-15, 2007 at the 11 month window and 2 days later went to add the 6th and was waitlisted but it came through about 2 weeks later. You'll be fine Good Luck!!!!

Wow ccig, I'm so happy to hear the good story! We were originally booked for Dec 6, 7, 8 so maybe my cancellation helped you out??

We're going to try for something else at 7 mos; maybe BW, AKV, or SSR. Although VWL is our "home" and we'd love to be there for Christmas.

My fingers are most firmly crossed!!!! Thanks for the pixie dust!

I think you will get it. In my experience with the waitlist it only did not come in twice. Both times were for food and wine festival at BWV. And one of those times I only got on the waitlist 6 weeks out. Good luck!

Well jpeka if you cancelled at the last minute (12/5) then for sure it was your studio so let me say thankyou - you made my trip. I really do think you'll get it - you've got plenty of time and people often change plans this far out. Please let us know if you get it.

We're on the same waitlist! We're going the 2-7th with friends, and MORE friends want to go now, so called for a studio, knowing they'd be waitlisted. I told them we'd let them sit on the waitlist until may, then see if there's anything else available at the 7 month window (they're not close friends so it's no biggie if they're not at the vwl with us). Even when I called for the first group of friends the week after I booked our 2 bdrm, their studio was waitlisted for about a week.

The waitlist for the first studio did come through, but that was back in January.

Don't worry; somehow, someway, you'll get to Disney. That's what we always say and it always seems to work out, even if it's different than what we originally planned. As long as you're open to unexpected magic, it'll be a blast.

Just as long as the temp's above 65 degrees, though. That's a new rule in our family. Disney below freezing is like eating cold gravy. Yuck!
