I waitlisted for a BW-view studio exactally 11 months out (I wasn't able to call MS until early afternoon on February 1), and so far the waitlist hasn't cleared. I do have a preferred view studio booked for the night, but I'm still waiting for the guarenteed BW view room.

Anyhow, here's my question: my waitlist is scheduled to expire 7 days prior (December 24). Has anyone had success with waitlists clearing within that 30-7 day window? Or, is my waitlist chance pretty much shot?

If you mean you are waitlisted for New Years Eve I think your chances are nil. That is THE most popular night to be onsite in WDW. Locals even book that one night so they can spend NYE at the world and not have to drive home. Plus you are talking the Boardwalk view which is tough to get anyway because there are so few.

I would say it would take a miracle.

Hi, Debi,
I would not give up. In fact, I would call every day when you hit 7 days and the waitlist ceases to exist. If you are checking into BWV before Dec. 31, I would also ask at the desk. I have had waitlists come through inside the 7 days window. Your date makes it less likely, but you never know. Sickness can hit anyone at any time and you might benefit. Here's some pixie dust for you pixiedust:

Mikesmom, I've been on the waitlist since February 1, mid-afternoon. The waitlist is now down to less than 30 days out, and it will stay in tact until 7 days out. I'm nervous that it hasn't cleared, especially since I've been on the waitlist since exactally the 11 month window.

Bump! Any chance this waitlist will clear? I'm hoping that I'm near the top by now, but as we all know, the waitlist is not a guarentee of anything. Thoughts?

I don't think your chances are very good - glad to see you have a back up reservation. As already mentioned, NYE is probably the most difficult reservation to get, especially since you want a BW view.

Good luck, though.

I would say slim to none... BUT I have shown up at the resort and gotten my waitlist, when the day before I didnt have it, so you never know.

Good luck. I'm still waiting for a studio anywhere on property for the 29th and 30th. I did finally get a back up booked through CRO so now I won't be needing that park bench on the boardwalk by Jellyrolls:dance3: :dance3: . Susan H.

I'm on a similar waitlist. We have a 2 bedroom BWV preferred view booked, but have been on the waitlist since the 11 month date (exactly) for a standard view for the nights of the 30th - 2nd.

I've given up.

Good Luck to you, tho.

Lissa

Never give up on your waitlist. Sometimes things happen and people have to cancel plans. I have had waitlists come through at the last minute. Sending Pixie Dust your way! pixiedust:

Hey!
I reserved that Park bench at the 11 month window using my SSR points and MS said my BW view was guaranteed unless there was construction!:lmao:

Dont give up! I just had not 1 but 2 studios come thru at VWL for Dec 26-28, 2007. I waitlisted at exactly 9am at the 7 month window.:wizard:

Thank goodness I was grandmothered in under the call first waitlist, because I had to move some things around.

I'm still waiting....according to dvcmember.com, my waitlist still hasn't cleared. Thanks for the good vibes!

I just got back from a last-minute trip yesterday. I waitlisted for three nights anywhere about 3-4 weeks ago. I got the middle night with 7 days to go. I normally plan way in advance, so it was a little stressful, but it worked out great. Good luck.
