We are planning a nearly two week DVC vacation this summer. We have friends from California joining us for their first visit to Walt Disney World. They wanted to stay at BWV so we wanted a 2 Bedroom unit. I had been watching inventory and knew that the Boardwalk View was limited. At the 7 month date, I did get the preferred view with no Boardwalk view available for the fist night. So I booked the preferred and wait listed the boardwalk. Within 24 hours the waitlist came through.
Our family wanted a few nights in a 1 bedroom at Vero Beach but only studios were available. I again booked the studio and wait listed the 1 bedroom. This one took longer, about 6 weeks, but it too came through.
We are also staying at the Poly in a studio for a few night with a break visiting family for a few nights.
We've had 100% success with wait lists during our membership (2004). I thought I'd share our experience for those who might not get their first choice. Hang in there, it's still possible.
