Waitlist requires borrowing question

I have a 2 BR ressie at SSR resort for May requiring 155 points. I have had to bank my remaining 2008 points because my UY is June. I have waitlisted for a 2 BR at VWL, BCV, BWV, and AKV. These all require 160 points. If one of my waitlists come through, will they know to automatically borrow the 5 extra points from my 2009 points? Thanks for your help!

Just call MS and make sure that they know it is okay to borrow. We recently had a WL for AKL CL that came thru which required 4 borrowed points. I had previously authorized MS to borrow the points and there were no problems. -- Suzanne

when i made my reservation for a studio at the BWV in Oct..one day in the middle was unavailable..go figure...anyway i booked the 2 days before and 2 days after.....waitlisting the middle day..i was borrowing points for the reservation and they did ask when the 1 night was put on the waitlist if it was ok to use borrowed points to fill it...maybe call back and double check that's what they will do with your waitlist

So do they have to cancel your existing ressie then borrow and book your new (WL) ressie? Otherwise they'd have to borrow to book the WL, then cancel the existing. How does it normally work?

any time i've waitlisted and it's come thru..they cancel the existing reservation.....then use those points towards the new reservation...
