under 60 days out — has anyone had a waitlist come through this close?

I just stalk the website.
It's possible after 30 days its less likely as those points go into holding.

I had an AK value studio come through for this coming week about 3 weeks ago. Inside 30 days. I got 2 days by waitlisting and was able add a 3rd by stalking (got it 2 days ago for check in this Sunday). I couldnt Waitlist 3 days because I had To do some creative point shuffling in order to have enough for that 3rd night if it became available

I'm always worried about downgrading and having my points going into holding. Using more points then I'm not too worried about as I'm getting where I want then.

Ah, I forgot that important detail, no downgrading, I was trying to get an additional room as we had 4 in a Club Level Studio. I needed some breathing room... LOL

I forgot to cancel my waitlist because it was a week in a BWV 2-br standard (lockoff), during early F&W. Figured it was never going to come through so we were happily "stuck" at BLT. Decided at the airport on our way out of the country to add a day at the beginning of that week at BLT using a different contract because we were <2 months out. Came back from a 10 day vacation at sometime during the vacation ... our waitlist filled at around 50 days out.

Now we are looking at 1 night at BLT and a week at BWV (and then 2 nights at AKV), and have waitlisted the one night so we don't have to move after one night but ... we are coming up on 31 days soon and I don't want to strand points in holding.

I just had a WL come through for a standard view 1BR for 1 night. I am still WL and stalking for 2 more days.

What is the difference in points between the two? If it were me, and not a lot of points I’d probably accept the potential loss not to change rooms!

Agreed! It's only 3-5 points. The problem is that there are no 1 or 2 bedrooms in any category at BWV so we are currently "stuck". Also, it's been a while since we stayed at BLT (2 years!) and we were excited to be close to the MK and Tron for a change. Clearly, first world problems!

Stalk the website! I just snagged the day I needed which I also had waitlisted. Not sure if the system would have eventually gotten it for me but I'm glad I've been checking!

Don’t forget to cancel the waitlist! When you do, go back and see if the room shows up again!

That has happened to me..I had the room and the one I snagged actually was a different one!!

I've had mixed success with waitlists. I just wait-listed 1 Night at HHI in March 2024.
(My add-on at HHI is pending ROFR, and won't have points until 2025 anyway, but that's why we're adding on there - for the 11-Month availability)

Yes, several times. But I also stalked multiple times a day, and was successful with a combination of stalking and the waitlist during the 30-60 day mark. I could play around with my points, so not in danger of going into Holding. Got several different studios for 5 nights during Marathon weekend this past January (BRV and Kidani Savannah view).
But, I'm currently looking for a 1 BR for 3 nights in September and don't have the flexibility because points would go into Holding, so it's more difficult.

So - DVC has chosen the most interesting times to fill my waitlist without telling me: when I‘m not looking and in the middle of non-Disney travel. My 2br waitlist for BWV filled, but since I was using 2 waitlists to get to the same resort, so I had waitlisted a standard view and a BW view. And we are now in a BW view while the rest of the trip is in a standard view. Again - first world problems...

I may be the only person ever who’s in a BW view and wait listing a standard view….

Now the site is down so I cannot see ig the waitlist is in fact set up.
