Waitlist Question

New member and I have not used the waitlist before and was wondering if anyone could explain to me how using the waitlist to replace an existing reservation works. Specifically what order does the canceling of the previous reservation and booking of the new room occur?

If I have basically no points left in my current use year and my waitlist fills will it have to borrow points first to book the new reservation and then cancel the one that is being replaced or will the cancellation of my existing reservation happen first so that those points are freed up and the new reservation will use those points that were just freed up?

They will either cancel & rebook or modify the existing reservation. They shouldn't need to borrow any points unless the new reservations requires more points than the original one.
