Waitlist question

I'm not sure if I should even try this. Here's the low-down: I have 2 2Br booked at BCV for Sat. Nov. 29th thru Wed. Dec. 5th(15 family members celebrating mom & dad's 50th anniversary). I was thinking that after everyone leaves it would be nice to stay 2 more days with just 6 of us in a 2 Br (till Fri. Dec. 5th). When I check availability, BCV has the 4th available but not the 3rd. A couple of other resorts have 3rd available but not the 4th. I don't want to change resorts 2x in 2 days. Should I try to waitlist BCV for the 3rd? What are my chances? Or should I book the 3rd at one of the other resorts & waitlist the 4th? I could kick myself because just 3 days ago SSR was showing availability for 3rd & 4th & I should have booked it then. Any advice? Or should I just pack up & leave on the 3rd? :confused3. Thanks in advance.

You need to book the extra days to a resort that you don't mind moving to as a backup if you really want to stay the extra days. Then you waitlist and hope that it comes through.

Thanks, Bill. I may have to call MS. I wish the DVC member website were a little more flexible with requesting a reservation. For example, if I put in 6 people, the only option of room type I can select is a 2 BR or Grand Villa. I wouldn't mind staying in 2 studios or 2 1BR units, but it does not allow you to select the number of rooms. So if a studio or 1BR were available, there would be no way for me to tell whether or not another is available unless I book them totally separately. At this point, though, I would have to assume they are all booked. I wish I had thought of this idea sooner.

You can only list you on the reservation and add the other names by sending a contact form to MS via the member website. You use the same form to add room requests or to modify the reservation.

Update: Called MS and was able to get 2 1BR units at SSR for 12/3-12/5. This will work well for us (I did request the rooms be as close as possible, though I realize it's not a guarantee). Whew, now I can start belly-aching over airfare.
