:headache:This is my second trip booking as a DVC owner and Im a lil confused. We originally had a 1 bedroom BWV-Boardwalk view booked for June 20-27. Thanks to the stupid blizzard , we have to tack on a few days to our school year. I hate snow.... Anyways, we are now going June 23-29 and we only need a studio now(oldest DD not gonna make it now cuz of stupid snow) and when I called MS to change the choices were thin. So for now, we have AKV DLX Savannah view Kidani. Stayed here in oct , loved it, but was reallly wanting an Epcot resort. We are waitlisted for BWV and BCV. Each one of those has a day in there unavailable. How often does waitlist become av. with only a day or so in question?? A split stay was my first reaction, but husband will not even discuss picking up and moving halfway thru trip. The MS rep I spoke with seemed to believe theres a chance. I put on my request up to 7 days before arrival to change if open.I made all of our dinner ressies except one at Epcot and the times are all perfect-if we were nearby(we take a daily swim break). Itll kinda put a kink in the ressies if i need to change the. I got Le Cellier, Akershus,Chef Mickeys, that was hard to get the times I wanted last month when booking! Do they email me if it becomes open or do I keep logging into DVC website to check?? My hubby is pretty bummed.... Im happy no matter what cuz I loved AKV.:thumbsup2

It's pretty much always a crapshoot, but I do think there is a chance, yes. It may be slim given those particular resorts at that time of year. However, I've had a good success rate with waitlisting over the years, though to be fair I've not tried BCV or BWV. I did go on a waitlist last May for a 1BR at VWL for the first week of December, and after much checking, calling, and hoping, wound up being able to go from a split stay of VWL-SSR-VWL, to a split stay of VWL-VWL (1BR and 2BR), to finally getting a 1BR for the entire stay at VWL. So, good things can happen.

You can check the website as often as you like, obviously, but I also called frequently to check for availability. I prefer being able to talk with a live MS person who might see something at the time of the call. Perhaps it makes no difference, but I've had very good fortune doing so over the years. Good luck! :thumbsup2

(For what it's worth, I don't mind split stays all that much, either.) ;)

The only thing I can say, and maybe this will help to convince DH, is that if you book part of your trip now at either BWV or BCV, then your wait list is for fewer days and sometimes that can help it fill faster.

Good luck!

It doesn't matter if only 1 night is unavailable now. If others call in to use some of the available nights, they get them. I do not think a 5 night waitlist at BCV this close to June has a chance, but the BWV stay does.

Best wishes.

Thanks for all of the replies! Just called and checked... nothing changed. However, the MS rep just suggested that I change the BWV Boardwalk view to a preferred view. I hope that we get an Epcot property for the hubby. :rolleyes1

Keep the faith and call every couple days to check avail.

We just gave up a BCV stay july4th -8th

We wanted to stay at BLT and kept calling till the 4th finally came avail. It can happen.

Best of luck:thumbsup2

We are in the same position. We had BWV Boardwalk view and then with the snow days we had to switch to the following week. We now have 2 nights at BWV pool/garden view, 1 night AKV savannah view, and then 1 night at BWV pool/garden view and we are waitlisted for that one night in the middle. I usually call sporadically when it comes to waitlists just to check. It was suggested that I call everyday after the waitlist expires...I did do that at Christmas a few years ago and after a few days had everything that I had wanted. It just took some time and patience.

The snow really screwed up, or potentially MAY screw up alot of DVC posters plans. Imagine how many plans changed that are NOT on the disboards ....Im still crossing fingers hoping my hubby can get an Epcot resort:thumbsup2 . Tay-sounds like you guys will be bounced around without a waitlist success.

UPDATE...
There is hope! Just got the email that our waitlist for that one night came through:yay:
I don't mind the bouncing around, but DH is not a fan of it at all.
