Waitlist question

I'm waitlisted for a 2 bedroom at OKW, Saratoga or AKV from 2/15-2/21/09. I've never had to do this before as we usually plan well in advance and fly. This is a spontaneous trip and we are driving.

Could you confirm a couple things for me? I was told by MS that they would not book anything unless ALL of the dates become available. That way I don't have to worry about piecing together a day at a time.

Also would like to know that if we drive and are obviously staying on property, do you still pay for parking if we decide to drive to the parks?

Wait lists are all or nothing. Guests staying at a WDW resort receive free parking at the parks. Just show your room key or parking pass.

If you want to try to piece the stay together, see if any of your dates are available, book them and then waitlist for what's missing. If you're willing to move are there accomodations available for when you're going?

We'd prefer not to piece it together because I don't want to switch resorts. Since we are already within the 30 days, and if not all the days came available, a cancellation would end up with our points in a holding account which I would like to avoid.

I was thinking that I may have better luck trying to initially get the Sun-Thurs stay (5 nights) and then add the 6th night if it comes available. Not really sure.

Since that is President's Week and we are within 30 days of arrival, my guess is that your wiatlist is unlikely to come through at either resort. I think you shold just plan on staying at your cash back up.
